I frankly didn’t expect it to be as amazing as it was. From the super friendly tour operator Mohamed Famzy who picked us at the hotel, to the bus driver Abdallah, to Bakr the pilot who greeted us at the motor boat ( btw you are offered self serve free tea in disposable cups there ) and was very patient explaining the safety measures to my young kids ( 8 and 11, and asking us all the show him the safety movements in case needed) and gave us an impeccably smooth landing, to the great photographer/ videographer Islam and Khaled who were capturing all the moments throughout which was super helpful so not only one can enjoy the ride undistracted taking photos etc, but also my kids pose for others but don’t like me taking their photos 🙁 was such a lovely add on (optional usb for purchase , arrives to your hotel after the tour with the entire video and all photos for a very reasonable price ($ less than $30), we live in the USA and at this price this doesn’t give you just a couple of photos by an equally professional photographer. I truly recommend this ride and most of all the company which runs it - HOD HOD , has a very safe ride record over the years, masks are mandatory once people are a bit closer while still open air in the balloon basket , safety is an important factor for our family when choosing activites and this company takes safety very seriously I was really impressed with that. Will sure try it again next time with my husband who was unable to make it this time. So looking forward to another chance to redo it. Thanks to HOD HOD, amazing crew, including all the ground team , over 10 who were helping us take off and land . Took the sunrise tour , around 45 mins on the balloon ride itself , but total around 3 hours from pick up to drop off. A must see and do if your get a chance.

It’s always been a dream of mine to fly in a balloon over the West Bank in Luxor in a balloon and I chose the top number 1 balloon company to do it. My mum is 80 and she has very bad mobility, she uses a wheelchair too and I was nervous of taking her to do it but captain Omar and the team at hod hod were outstanding in their service and looking after us brilliantly. I would definitely fly again with hod hod 100% they really do look after you and the landing was so smooth, Omar is a very very experienced pilot and safety is his and hod hods number one priority. Definitely a fantastic once in a lifetime experience with the best company in Egypt

Up, Up and Away - We got up before sunrise to take a hot air balloon ride over the east bank of the Nile. Half-asleep we climbed into the hot air balloon basket and took off to meet the morning sky. Except for the short bursts of the burner, we floated silently over the Valley of the Queens, Hatshepsut’s Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon. It was a magical experience and one we will never forget. Helpful Hints: There are at least two sizes of baskets - one for a large group and another for a more intimate experience. Coffee and a sweet are served on the way to the balloon. If you have them, take binoculars.

Amazing experience from start to end. Everyone there was very professional and friendly. On the day, they picked us up from the hotel at 4:45am on the dot (we stayed at Iberotel, closet hotel to the ferry boat to the hot air balloon site at the West Bank). We were the second balloon to take off on the day, out of the 20 balloons that day. We had 55 minutes of air time, went to up to 2500 feet. The pilot Amr was good. We saw everything they promised. Safety first all the time. The passenger van picked us up at the landing spot (can be anywhere depending on wind). So efficient in this process with no time wasted. Back to the hotel around 7:45am. The whole experience in air was magical - saw the valley of the kings, the Nile oasis, and the sunrise. Tips for other travelers - careful of some balloon companies with not enough balloons. We saw one company that flew the balloon twice the same day. 1st time at 5am and 2nd time around 7am, which missed the sunrise and only in air for 15 minutes. This is because Luxor airport only gives the hot air balloon air space until 8am every day for safety reasons. We felt so bad for the tourists in the second take-off time... waited for a long time with not enough air time.

This was the highlight of our entire trip to Egypt! The scenery and experience was wonderful. We found the equipment and crews to be very professional and safe. There were about 15 balloons in total the day we went. There were about 25 people on our balloon ride. We took off before sun up and once we were aloft, were saw a beautiful sunrise! We floated over many of the best historical sites on the west bank. While this balloon ride was one of the most expensive ones, I think it was well worth it. Our balloon captain was very experienced and used to be a tour guide of the west bank himself. He described in great detail the things that we saw below. Also, it seemed that our balloon flew over the most interesting sites and that we got to see things from a much better vantage point than most of the other balloons. In our opinion - you get what you pay for with this balloon operator.

This was a splurge for me, but if you’re going to do a hot air balloon ride I cannot imagine having a better backdrop. This company was professional and very efficient. Watching them get my elderly mother into and out of the basket was remarkable. Get your coffee beforehand if you’re staying on the on the West Bank and don’t forget to bring tip $$. Dress in layers as the flame tends to heat up the basket.

The balloon ride is beyond exceptional that it prompted me to write my first review on Tripadvisor (that is how good). We went on the sunrise one: 1- driver picked us from the hotel at around 4:40am (the trip is worth getting up early); 2- we arrived at the dock at around 5am; 3- waited in the boat for 20-30 minutes (I think they need to get clearance from the airport tower); 4- arrived at the West Bank at around 5:45am; 5- arrived at the take-off site after 6am; 6- waited around 20 minutes for the pre-flight preparation (preparation is interesting to watch and great chance to take pictures with all the balloons); and 6- took off at around 6:30am before the sunrise. We shared the balloon with under 20 people, time of flight is 45min-1 hour (Hod Hods balloon actually flew higher and longer than the other companies) and they will drive you back to the hotel just in time for the breakfast buffet. The best part of the ride is the landing (extremely entertaining and thrilling) and obviously the sunrise, other balloons in the air and birds-eye view of the temples. The not-so-best part: 1- you have to wake up really early (but it is worth it); 2- their ride is about US$20-30 more expensive (but they are better and you probably wont care about 20-30 bucks); 3- some locals will try to sell you stuff and ask for money at the take-off/landing site (you are probably used to it by now since you are already in Egypt). We paid US$160 for 2 people and an additional US$20 for pictures and videos. Recommend you to pay the US$80/people at least.

My very first Balloon rideThis was my very first ride in a Balloon. Thank you to our pilot Amr and his ground crew for making this a fantastic experience, going up smooth and easy and landing without even noticing that we touched the ground.Flying over the ancient sites Amr was also the perfect guide with knowledge about both ancient and recent history and staying not too far above the ground we had a perfect view over the sites.

We were so impressed by the excellent organization of this tour - from our hotel collection to. a boat trip across the river to the launching pad. The pilot Omar was very skilled - I barely felt the touchdown in a freshly plowed agricultural field. The views from the balloon are spectacular - it gives a completely different perspective than the tour on the ground and its facinating to see the scope of the tombs and the archeological digs happening all over the landscape. If you can fit this into your itinerary its a must do experience

What a skilled pilot and fabulous experience! Getting up at 4 AM was not my favorite part but it was definitely worth it for the experience.

Arriving pre-dawn to a desert location to see billowing balloons and jets of flame is a magical start to a memorable flight near the valley of the kings. With the Nile to one side and the Theban plateau on the other the view as sun rises is unmatched. The crew and pilot made life easy and safe and I would recommend this without hesitation.

The booking over the Homepage of Hod Hod Soliman went easy, we got a quick response and confirmation. The day before we had a quick confirmation call that everything is still as planned. We got picked up at 4 am at the hotel (the driver was in time) and brought to a boat to cross the Nile. We got served a little snack, tea and coffee. Together with all the other balloon ride companies we drove in busses as a caravan close to the Valley of the Kings, where the balloons take off. The view over the temples and the tombs was simply amazing and totally worth it. The ride took around 90 min - longer than many other balloons. After landing we got directly picked up by the busses and, with a quick stop at a bakery, took the same way back.The whole trip was - against some other evaluations - very well organized and went smoothly. The guys were super friendly and helpful. All in all it was a fantastic experience, which we completely recommend.

Wonderful experience!A truly brilliant experience that I will never forget during my holiday in Luxor.I was picked up at my hotel at 4am and we were taken in a mini bus to boats on the east bank. We were given a safety briefing along with tea and coffee and twinkies, and then the boat took us across the Nile to the west bank where we got into another mini bus to be taken to the launch site. Once there we were able to watch the balloons being inflated.The pilot for the balloon I was in was Amr and he was professional and friendly. Once in the air he directed the balloon over the famous sites of Luxor, including Hatshepsuts temple, Valley of the Kings and Queens and the Ramusseum and Medinet Habu to name a few, along with beautiful views of the sunrise. Amr made sure he turned the balloon basket around so people on both sides got to see the wonderful views.The balloon landing was fantastic - very smooth - so a mention must go to the ground crew as well. When the experience was over we were then taken back to the boats and I was dropped off at my hotel.A fantastic experience that I would highly recommend. Amr was a great pilot with years of experience and a lovely man, who after the flight I managed to have a chat with. So many thanks to him and Hod Hod Soliman. If you are in Luxor you MUST do a hot air balloon ride, and you should pick this company.

Fantastic balloontripI am so happy :-) Because I went with Hod Hod Soliman and Captain Amr. This was really a great choice.First I will tell that It was 3 balloons going up In the air. Our balloon got up first :-) In time to see the sun get up also :-) Then Captain Amr took us over the temples so we could see them all from the air.We were the first up and the only one flying over the temples. The to other balloons was only over the field at least not close to the temples. We also landed around 20 min. later then the others :-)Do I need to tell more :-) It was so good and i recommend Hod Hod Soliman from my honest hart.Have a nice flight everyone and I will for sure be flying with you again. Thank you all In HHS for taking so good care and making this day a memory for life

EXPERIENCE TO DO AT LEAST ONCE IN LIFE! We were lucky enough to fly with the chief selector and it was a fantastic experience. Practically the last to go ashore after flying over the Valley of the Kings we saw Luxor in a completely new perspective. We must consider that the alarm clock is at 4.30 but it is worth it to see the valley of the kings at sunrise from the hot air balloon. I highly recommend booking directly
