Absolutely do it. 80 euro and hard to wake up 4 am to do this, this is one experience in a life time. Go for it.

I was really looking forward to this experience but it didn’t turn out quite as I imagined. The communication via email was good enough. £50 GBP per person seemed good value.Our first scheduled flight was cancelled (at 10:30pm the night before) due to bad weather - can’t be helped.We were picked up the following day at 4:10am. Taken by minibus to a boat where we were served ‘breakfast’ (tea/coffee/packaged biscuit). Then taken across the Nike for another short ride to the departure point. There seemed a lot of hanging around in the bus, I believe due to their lack of organisation / not enough man power. We were dropped off ready for our flight and took off soon after. Exactly 30mins in the air (not a minute less) and that part of it was excellent. Landed in a field and then disembarked (Pilot Wawa was great) before yet more disorganisation from the ground team/transportation.We were with this company from 4:10am - 8am and spent just 30mins in the air which was disappointing. It’s worth it but be warned it won’t be the slickest operation you’ve ever experienced.

Very awesome experience! Everything was well-organised: the pick-up at our hotel, the hot air ballon flight and the transfer back to the hotel.The flight was really great and everything was just as promised: our hot air ballon started when it was still dark & we saw the sunrise during the flight. You can see the westbank, the nile, the temples like the famous Hatshepsut Temple or the Ramesseum.The whole flight & landing was very comfortable and smooth. Even though we got picked up at 4:10AM and it was quite a short night, the flight was it totally worth it. Definitely THE highlight of our stay in Luxor.Highly recommended!

Absolutely a wonderful experience

I tried morning session in 2013. You have to get up in the very early morning to arrive to embarking point. It takes at least 1 and half hour. To see the temples from the air is amazing.Then you land off on the open field. It is tremendous experience. You should definetley try. It was 50 dollars in that era because of revolution and dead season. I dont know how much is it now?

Sharing my experience for hot air balloon in Luxor Egypt. Its a great experience everyone should have a ride. Tourist just BEWARE for the Price of balloon ride. GUIDES will ask you to book it through them and ask for 125 USD per person for a ride which is far too expensive. My suggestion to everyone is to book is directly from the Ballon company office available in main market opposite to Luxor temple. Direct booking will cost you 70-80 USD for 30-45 minutes ride. Please dont buy from from tour guide. Also ballon ride is operated early morning so you have to get up around 4 a.m. Please feel free to ask any questions for it.

You need to read this review before booking your air balloon ride.Update : few hours after writing my google review, mr.Alaa called & said they don’t care whatever I wrote, then started cursing so I disconnected the call .Me & my young brother took a balloon ride yesterday & I am not satisfied at all.It started by me looking up & finding that Magic Horizon got good reviews.I called them & talked to mr. Alaa , he told me the sunrise ride costs 900 L.E , I negotiated the price with him as I am just one person paying for two people, he said let me check what we can do ? later someone from same company called for arrangements, I said ok we can do that but still I didn’t know the final price, he called later & said 850L.E per each is the best we can do as the sunrise ride is more expensive than other times ,I agreed & insured that it will be Sunrise , he said yes.So pickup time was set to be 5:30 am, I was ready on-time, didn’t find their bus , I called the guy asked me to wait for his call back , 10 min. later called & told me to ask for specific guy that know which bus will take me there , I got on the bus at 5:45 , it started moving at 6:05 (note : sunrise is at 6:30) , we arrived to the spot around 6:20 & waited for the other balloons to fly first, then our’s started to fly at 6:45 , by that time the sunrise was already over ( you can see photos ) , I didn’t enjoy the ride as I was only looking on one direction as the sunlight was direct to my eyes & I cannot see anything.After the ride was over I started talking to people there & mr. Alaa that this isn’t what I paid for & they should give me at least 300 out of the 1700 back , mr.Alaa said he was sorry for that & this was their problem as their 1st ride was late ( which I thought I should be on ) so that ended up that the second ride was late too , also the pickup wasn’t well organized for the rest of the group, all that together ended up that we didn’t catch the sunrise , he offered to give me free ride on my next visit, I explained to him that if I have the money & time I will travel to a new place & not visit Luxor again , I asked him if he can get me & my brother the ride on the second day before traveling to Aswan , he checked & called later that he can’t do it as all were booked.One more thing the certificate they gave us was from company called Alaska & not Magic Horizon , I asked about this too & he said they have two companies to get more ride permissions from Egyptian government.So the summary I spent 1700 , didn’t enjoy the ride , bad experience, they weren’t able to provide any discount or other ride )I don’t recommend them at all .

I was quite happy with the choice for magic horizon. The light breakfast is a cup of tea or coffee and a small prepackaged cake. Our pilot was an experienced pilot, with a good explanation of where we were going. While most balloons stayed on the West Bank, we crossed the Nile to the east bank and had the chance to see the Karnak temple right beneath us. We payed 75$ each. Probably not the cheapest, but in my opinion worth the money.

Had a relaxing and scenic balloon ride. We payed for 30 minutes but the balloon driver gave us almost an hour. The price was good, $USD35. There is nothing to complain about, very safe practice, would definitely recommend to anyone considering a hot air balloon ride! :)

We enjoyed the gorgeous views and panorama of antiquities in a way you can only appreciate from the air. The pilot was safe and entertaining and did a good job of spinning the balloon so everyone got to see everything. The passenger basket was large and divided into sections so everyone had great view and no one was jostled around. There were five in our group and there was enough room for everyone and their packs.

This experience was absolutely incredible! Pilot Bob is very experienced and amazing. We were the first balloon in the sky and enjoyed the breathtaking sunrise and scenery. I definitely recommend everyone to complete their trip to Luxor with this tour!

I had an amazing experience that I will never forget. The people were absolutely lovely and were super friendly. Captain Bob made me feel so safe, he knew exactly what he was doing. It was well organised and on time, even tho they warned us that the schedule could change depending on the weather and the Civil Aviation Authority giving us the ok to fly. Overall it was a super fun experience!!!!!

My hot air balloon ride was wonderful, one of those experiences you have to enjoy in your life if you happen to have the opportunity... you could choose cheaper , last minute flights but, once you are at it, my advise is to go for the first flight and enjoy the sunrise. The monuments of the ancient Luxor look different from that height, in a different light...a memorable experience indeed. It is impossible not to appreciate and to feel blessed.Magic Horizon delivered exactly what they promised. Kind staff, they are very concentrate on the progress of the whole experience, which indeed requires a lot of work, and patience considering the whole structure, which you might not notice, taken as you are by the experience and the need to take pictures... ;)I thank you guys!

Ive been visiting for years and friends at Magic Horizon are always on my list to visit. Things dont always go to plan but they have strict safety rules in Egypt, which Magic will always follow. When my husband and i decided to go hot air ballooning, I wasnt looking for a bargain. I was looking for a good, reputable company who I could rely on having experienced pilots  and that I knew would take passengers safety into consideration, so luckily, I found magic horizons balloons.I felt completely confident in their pilots ability, he was experienced and made sure everyone in the aircraft was 100% safe. The whole crew were polite, punctual, and helpful.It was a completely amazing experience, and I would 100% recommend this company and this experience to anyone!If youre looking to fly a hot air balloon in luxor, make sure youre choosing a good company and choose magic horizons.

Update: reduced to 1 star because of the blatant lie that was their response and their attempt to disqualify me. No room or option to get assistance during and they took advantage of last minute booking as we couldnt wait for another time or provider. Spend your money elsewhere.Customer service, price and care for customers, terrible! The experience was amazing. As per anyone getting in a balloon 1000ft in the air over Luxor Egypt.They advertise 50% off for last minute bookings, but in fact he charged us more than those with us.We didnt get up before sunrise and the driver at the end wanted to charge us extra to take us home. They advertised light breakfast too, but didnt see anything of the sort. Go with every and any other provider and youll get the same experience in the air but with better people.

Unfortunately one guest was playing music on their phone and it was loud. Please Horizon, let your guests enjoy tranquility rather than rap music. Its not every day people go up in a balloon.

My wife and I flew in to Luxor and spotted the Magic Horizon office opposite our hotel, as this is something we have always wanted to do we popped in and made an enquiry. Their staff were knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming and most of all not in the slightest pushy or sales orientated. We felt really safe and confident with their service and decided to book our excursion with them. We flew with Captain Bob, we were picked up from our hotel at the exact time we had been told, a short drive later we were by the banks of the Nile and boarding a boat to cross the river, where we had our safety briefing along with tea and cookies. Once on the other side it was another short drive and before we knew it we were greeted with the incredible sight of the balloons going up.The ground crew, cameraman and captain Bob were excellent with their communication and kept the whole experience upbeat and really enjoyable.While the rest of the balloons went high and off in the same direction, Captain Bob used his 22 years experience and kept us low and in a different stream of wind which led our balloon, and only our balloon, across the Nile and right in front of Karnak Temple which was an absolutely stunning view and experience, which will stay in our memories forever. We were one of the first balloons to go up that morning and we were the very last by about 20mins to come down and land. I would definitely recommend Magic Horizon to anyone looking to do a hot air balloon over Luxor and look forward to my next visit.

Awesome, a unique view of some of Egypts antiquities.

To say that it was my worst experience with Egyptian service providers is to say nothing. My friends and I reserved a place on the balloon a day before our planned ride. Considering that we are in Egypt we ensured to confirm our reservations numerous times. We were set on the time, which was 4:30 am for Magic Horizon to pick us up from our hotel. In the morning we contacted each other to arrange to meet in the lobby. Once meeting our guide and informing him of our number, we went to collect our belongings. From then on, inexplicable events took place. That same guide gathered a group of German tourists and left the hotel without informing us. As soon as we discovered that he had gone, we started calling the company and were told that all balloons were fully booked. Even after making a fuss about it, they refused to come back for our group of 6 and all we were continuously reminded of, is that there was no place on the balloon. As our group was partially Egyptian, we were all charged the Egyptian rate which obviously wasnt the price the foreign group was asked to pay. The incompetency of the firm is what taints Egyptian reputation and makes it difficult to trust any local service provider.

Seriously it was a great flight with pilot wawa , really I didn’t imagine that it will be that beautiful I’m so thankful that I dealed with this great company and i hope repeat this trip million time thanks that u took us in time and we saw the sunrise and we were supposed to fly for 35min but it took 55min thank you alot guys for making us happy

Magic Horizon Balloons exceeded my expectations. Captain Memo was an amazing captain he was very professional. He provided very detailed explainations regarding flight safety and what to expect while taking off and landing. The entire crew and owner welcomed us with such hospitality and warmth. I was picked up from my hotel and dropped off at the Nile to take a motor boat across to the other side for further transportation to the hot air balloon designated field. We flew over the major sights of Luxor, such as the Valley of Kings and Hatshepsut Temple. The views were absolutely amazing. This activity with Magic Horizon Balloons is a MUST while in Luxor.
