The old building had its own charm beginning with the elevator, the ceiling and the room itself.Its very well located, the room was clean and very well equipped. We had a fridge and even a hair drier.The staff is friendly, helpful and speaks very well english.Me and my wife really enjoyed it and for sure we recommend it.

Filthy room with a bathroom inside the room with no separation so you feel like you are sleeping inside the toilet. Bad untasty breakfast. Cracked ceiling due to moisture for the hotel hasnt been renovated in a long time. The price is way too much expensive for rooms condition.

I arived after midnight and the didnt give me the room i booked for and when i decided to leave they told me you wont find a place at this time and its the summer season although i booked 2 weeks before i arived Egypt they utilize the persons situation and they deceive.

The staff at mid town are kind and thoughtful. Anytime we experienced a problem, they worked as quickly as possible to mitigate the issue. The hostel is located in a great location that’s convenient for walking around to other sights, shopping, and food. The room we stayed in was spacious and included a private bathroom, as well as a balcony overlooking a fantastic view of the bustling Cairo streets. A special shoutout and thank you to one of the staff members (Khaled) — we all became good friends by the end of our time there!

I wouldnt give them any stars if I could. Horrible experience. As someone already mention, the house and the staircaise looks like something out of a horror movie. We arrived around 7pm and the guy who checked us in told us to take a seat as our room wasnt ready. Our room not ready at 7pm?! Suspicious! We waited almost an hour, without them telling us what was going on, before they showed us our room. It didnt look like anything in the pictures. We booked a superior double room with a balcony - there wasnt anything superior about that room. Bed was only half made, sheets were missing, and they left us someone elses shower sandals in there to use. We got the feeling, as right now not many people are travelling, that most of the guest live there and that someone else was living in our room. They quickly moved him out and a handful of guys who dont even work there, helped together to clean our room. No communication skills at all. I think they didnt speak a whole sentence to us. We ended up staying one night, and demanded a refund for the second night. The receptionist seemed surprised when we told him how much we paid, like he doesnt even know how much his damn hostel costs. Overpriced. They offered us a different room, but we just wanted to get the hell out of there.

Great staff, very friendly. We had an issue with our room and they very quickly solved it and accommodated us. The place is being renewed, for this reason the inside looks way better than the outside. Breakfast was nice too. And it has an elevator, which was a plus compared to another place we stayed recently in Cairo

Had a great stay here. Front desk staff (Jasmine) were excellent. Location may seem sketchy at first but is actually great and close to everything in Cairo. Rooms were clean and big and extremely affordable. Would come here again.

This is supposed to be a hostel although it has all the trimmings of a hotel, but value for money. Rooms are exactly as depicted in the photos but it is larger in reality with high ceilings. Everything is super clean and is working perfectly... AC, sattelite TV, bathroom facilities etc. Breakfast is brought to your room and whatever you need from the kitchen can be arranged. Khaled goes out of his way to tend to guests needs and he makes you feel welcome. I was delightfully suprised that they do sell sightseeing tours at reasonable prices, however you need to ask about it as theyre not pushy or try to force it on you like most hotels do. Overall service was good by all the staff but Khaled is the gem and house keeping is tip top... they deserve to be tipped. I hope Khaled will place the tip jar as was recommended because one does not always know who did what with housekeeping, that way the fairies who magicly make things happen for you also get rewarded for their service. Id recommend any of the hostels and hotels Khaled manage because the service and quality is the same.

Great hostel with really friendly and helpful staff! We stayed one of the larger rooms with a balcony. It was so nice sleeping in and having a full breakfast on a balcony looking over the city. The airport pickup make life a lot easier too. The area is perfect too. Its a short walk to the museum or you can kick back with shesha and backgammon at a cafe down stairs.

We stayed here 5 nights. They cancelled our booking reservation after 8 days because we gave them 1 star on booking so the review will not appear. The reviews on booking are fake. This was my review :The photos they share are professional and dont meet the realityFrom the moment we walked in we were disappointed. The hotel is in a building with another hotel and some offices, they have some rooms on 3rd and 5th floor. The halls of the building are never cleaned ( Please see the pictures).Breakfast is very poor and served on a table situated in the middle of an hall, infront of the rooms.The room is big but very simple (no chair, no table), and very miserable. Bed sheets are cheap ,sintetic and dirty.The pilot does not have a cover and i bet they dont wash it.The towels and the pilows are also dirty.Because its an old building, the smell is horrible and you can not open the window because the room is already full of mosquitos and they dont have nothing against them, we left with over 15 mosquito bitesThere is a lot of noise and you need earplugs to sleep.To be honest, this hotel is for people that dont care about cleaning and just need a place to sleep. We stayed here 3 nights at the beginning of June.First of all after my review on Booking they cancelled my stay so I wasnt able to put my honest review online (this is how an average hotel like this keeps such a high rating!!!)The neighborhood looks a bit rough, the whole building and entry looks like a ghost house. The only good thing is that the the rooms were brand new and clean but a few things were missing such as a shower curtain. Our air-conditioning in room 304 leaked for 3 days non stop so we had a swimming pool next to the bed. The staff were ok but a bit slow so on the first day we had to wait 1 hour for breakfast. Also at the time when we stayed the elevator was broken which was not really convenient as the reception was on the 5th floor!

The hostel is run by Ahmed and he does so in a very professional manner. We stayed here a couple of days during our stay in Cairo and were very pleased. We were picked up from the airport; the rooms are clean and spacious with a private balcony. Ahmed helps you to explore Cairo in a way that is fitting with your needs, he really thinks with you which is very nice. The building is under construction (like a lot of buildings in Cairo) but dont be put off by the outside. The inside of the hostel is beautiful, clean and modern. We had a great time with Ahmed and would highly recommend!

New hotel just established in Jan/Feb 2018. Slowly adding things to the rooms such as air-conditioning and TV. Total 10 rooms of varying sizes and views. There are 10 steps leading up to the passageway where the elevator is. Free airport shuttle is only from airport to hotel. Special key required to operate the elevator. Excellent breakfast provided.

At first its my second visit to this hotel, and I repeated my visit because I enjoyed it from the first time, its really a comfortable place and great and the deal is excellent and the location is amazing and Im recommending this place to everyone.

After careful consideration of all options, I booked 2 nights at Midtown Hostel during my stay in Cairo. Upon arrival, I was told that my room was unavailable. They said they would take me to another one of their outlets for the same price... Upon arrival to said place of lodging, Royal Hotel, I found it to be dirty, so I said I would not accept. They told me I would have to go elsewhere.This hotel group apparently has 4 outlets in town, but made no effort to accommodate me elsewhere due to their mistake. Avoid this hostel and their affiliate lodgings.

The place was cozy and value for money. But the main reason I give 5 star to budge hostel is the staff. The staff was 20 years old Egytian girl, Noura (she seems she works everyday during day time). She is really kind and helpful all the time with natual smile. Even when i was away from hostel, she also informed alot, where is good to eat, where i can go for sightseeing , where i can buy alcohols (haha). Good staff is really a Plus for hostel/hotels.
