Beware of these Nubian guest houses. They are not typical Nubian house, but a congested concrete box. It is true that it is on the periphery of a true, very friendly, Nubian village. The services are poor, no check in or check out systems, poor WiFi, no body to handle your luggage, no receipt for payments, no body to make a request etc.You have to climb down and up about thirty steps to a ferry and walk through a kilometer of narrow foot paths carrying your luggage. The owners are after quick money and do not know the basics of hospitality industry. They are looking at the tourist as a fool and try to charge exorbitant rates for everything. Their best defence is getting angry at the guests. Moreover, there are plenty of mosquitoes, files, dogs, rats, unprocessed rubbish heaps and open air defacation. Please avoid these places.
It is really nice place to spend time in taharka ,the huis is clean en has a wonderful lay out on Nile River it can be for family or individual ..nice accommodation
Good value for money, it would be a 5 star if the accommodation was cleaner. Very dirty the truth, even claiming we were sent to someone and the only thing that solved was to empty the rotten fish from the fridge, but not the bad smell ... Fantastic shower by the way. Terrace unusable due to insalubrity and danger of cutting with glass.
Disgust. Apartment dirty, untidy. No towels, all dingy and spotty. Stinking fish in the fridge. Bathroom - the board on the toilet was not washed for at least a year. I do not recommend. The whole island is one junkyard.
The place is wonderful looking out over the Nile
A charming place and a wonderful nature
