The Speos of Horemheb is one of the many ancient monuments that line the west bank of the River Nile at Gebel el Silsila. Due to the recent research carried out by the Swedish led mission at Silsila they have been able to re date the Temple to the reign of Queen Hatshepsut.

Chapel drilled into the rock at Gebel Silsileh, built by Pharaoh Horemheb, whose name means in Egyptian Horus is at feast, and who was the last pharaoh of the 18th dynasty, ruling Egypt between 1323 and 1295 BC.We saw it from the deck of our ship on the Nile Cruise, on the way between Edfu and Kom Ombo
