Its really important, historically and culturally, to give this place more attention. Considering its location among the historical sites of Old Cairo, we didnt give the deserved appreciation. An art gallery is hosted in one of the halls of the palace and some live concerts. At the last time I was there it was for egyptian painter Inji Aflatoun.

His position was helping to monitor political life and turned into a headquarters for the isolated pashasThe palace was restored between 2002 - 2008It has become a center for creativity and a headquarters for reviving musical and artistic concerts. It also offers a variety of artistic workshops to discover talented people in the fields of plastic art, singing, playing, acting and religious chanting, which makes visiting the palace a meal that combines history and ancient architecture with contemporary arts.

The palace is located in Old Cairo, in the Caliph area of the castle, on the Sioufi Street, off the Saliba Street. It was established by its owner, Prince Saif Al-Din Taz Bin Katagaj, one of the eminent princes of the Mamluk Maritime State, whose name began to appear during the rule of Imad al-Din Ismail bin Al-Nasir Muhammad bin Qalawun (1343 - 1345 AD) until he became, in the era of his good brother Zain Al-Din Haji, one of the princes who They have the solution and the contract in the state at that time, in the last quarter of the nineteenth centuryWhen the Prince Taz palace reached the age of five hundred years, the Khedive government decided to refer the palace to the warehouse and decided to convert it to a girls ’school at the behest of Ali Pasha Mubarak, one of the pioneers of the Enlightenment at that time, but only a few decades passed but the Ministry of Education vacated the palace not for the purpose of restoration and preservation On him after the visible signs of aging showed him, but he cleared it to turn it into a store! And because the palace is large and spacious and is located in the heart of Cairo, it was eligible from the ministry’s point of view to be the main storehouse for hundreds of thousands of textbooks, tens of vehicles that were prone and hundreds of tons of scrap of all kinds .. And because people are on the religion of their kings, the region’s residents did not feel embarrassed to use the palace As a cemetery for dead animals! .. The palace did not tolerate all this humiliation, and it is the one who witnessed and witnessed hundreds of years of splendor and bliss, and he entrusted himself after he was raided by diseases and ills, and many of his walls swayed and many of his rooms collapsed. Currently, many concerts are held in the palace to celebrate Arabic music, Many From workshops for children, such as painting, singing, sculpture, and some political seminars and meetings after the January 25 revolution
