After braving the entrance of the building that reminds me of a horror movie or a crack den we arrived at the pristine Sabai Sabai.Immediately greeted by a happy staff, I went to the immaculate bathroom and then was seated. We ordered 2 soups, dim sum, Vietnamese rolls, Duck and Chicken curry and was not disappointed.Everything came prompt, super tasty and it is definitely the most authentic Thai in Egypt that I’ve been to. I’d of came earlier but I judged a book by the cover. The entrance to the building is the only thing that sucks

The best Thai restaurant in all of Egypt. The flavors are authentic and very yummy. I’ve tried almost the whole menu. Everything is delicious. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. We even tried ordering delivery from here several times and each time we get the food prepared well and quickly. Two thumbs up

The flavours really sparkle in their food, the Pad Thai was one of the best Ive had outside of Thailand. Once inside you forget the unpromising mall setting and look forward to your next surprising dish.

Highly recommended!Despite its hidden location inside an old mall in Zamalek, Sabai Sabai is a terrific Thai experience right in the heart of Cairo. The restaurants design and calming music give the place great atmosphere.Ordered their vegetable spring rolls, Panang curry, and steamed jasmine rice. All three were delicious and perfectly prepared. Portions are reasonable. For dessert, tried their fried ice cream which is served with mint and fruit slices. The ice cream scoop is relatively large, therefore its more suitable as a shared dessert. All waiters are friendly and comply with COVID-19 safety measures by wearing masks. The restaurant also provides cutlery in boiled water as a sanitary measure.

Food is amazing but the place seriously needs an upgrade. The AC is super old and does not cool at all. It was 35° outside and we were all sweating profusely. Nevertheless, we decided wed order starters and see how it goes. My wife left to wait in the car give minutes after wed said lets give the place a chance. I asked to get the food to go. I waited too long... 45 minutes.. for some spring rolls, wontons and a bed salad. I was drenched in sweat by the time I left. We were so hungry we attacked the food in the car. It was good. Shame the place is so neglected.Furniture is old, everything is old and seems untouched for decades. I urge the owners to renovate if they want to maintain a customer base

This is one of the best Thai (South East Asian food) in Cairo. The taste are just spot on and as an Asian I approved that. The best part is their dessert, I tried Buoi Luoi and Mango with sticky rice and hands down Buoi Luoi is my favourite. The place is located just in front of a hotel and the servers/ waiters are very nice. The price point is quite high but I think its worth the penny.

Lights offquite a strange little place tucked away in Zamalek, Cairo. Upon arrival we found most of the lights off. I was told because when turned on the flys will arrive. So if you dont mind you can eat in the half light. Food is ok, The menu says tilapia but they are using Pangasius which is nothing special. service was good and the team tried their best.

Review №26

Subpar Thai. Menu looked promising, but both orders (tom kha gai & beef with eggplant and basil) were misses. Inedible aromatics (lemon grass, galangal, etc) chopped much too fine, constantly pulling them off of my tongue. Soup color was off, consistency too watery. Beef dish had loads of bell pepper, practically no eggplant; the curry was like thin water. More soup than curry. Cook used same base for both dishes, and missed both times. 26% added tax and service. And I loathe wait staff who cross out machine printed totals and make additions (like drinks) in pen.

The location is hard to get to and its inside a super weird mall BUT THE FOOD IS 120% WORTH IT!! I had a hard time locating it.)

After eating Egyptian food for nearly 2 weeks, we thought we’d give a break and have something different. We got pad Thai, red chicken curry with potatoes and some fish salad. The pad thai was absolutely amazing, better than some of the places I’ve had in Thailand (that or I really miss Asian food). If you need your Asian fix, definitely give this place a go

My favorite Thai food place. Its almost never crowded, they serve alcohol, service is great. Vegans will have a hard time, but their dishes are very good. Tom yum soup and pad Thai are my favorites, but they do the most familiar dishes really well. Delivery is also prompt, delivered hot and packaged well. Theres only two really good non-hotel Thai options, this is one of them!

A delightful place for Asian (especially Thai & Malay) cuisine tasting & experience. They offer ample variety choices of food, desserts & drinks here. The dishes are very delicious, well presented and mostly accurate with the original taste from the origin nations. Very satisfying if you’re an Asian/someone with passion for the Asian taste. The place is very nice & comfortable to enjoy your meal. The location is exact as in the Google Maps, but the restaurant entrance can be a bit confusing to look for, do ask people around if you’re lost.

We were introduced here by other expats and were not disappointed.Whilst this restaurant doesnt have a the most inviting entrance from street level, once you are inside the food is amazing. Fresh produce is grown and picked at the farm near Sakkara and then transformed into delicious fare.No alcohol served but anyone can bring their own for consumption. We will visit again.

It was my first time to the place, it is a bit tricky to get there are it is inside a building on the 1st floor, but once there, you will find everything well set, not that fancy. I was looking for a light vegan meal, so I went for the vegetable spring rolls and the glass noddles soup, both were very nice, it toke a bit of time to get the plates but it was hot and well served. Prices are a bit higher than expected for portions but accepted. Will go back to try out other plates.

I know it is challenging to run a resto business, especially if it serves fish, which need to be fresh and freshly cooked. Same with other dishes - be it poultry or meats or even veggies. But that is what customers look and pay for. Thai cuisine is famous for the use of freshest ingredients that are often stir fried or steamed - cooking methods that relies so much on how fresh the ingredients are. I hope Sabai Sabai continues to improve on this. I am a real fan and would encourage others to try this. Perhaps a steady flow of diners would help ensure good turnover of fresh ingredients.

Nested in the heart of Zamalek this restaurant is well located However the food we ordered was pretty bad. Extremely sour very salty. You get a big bowl of watery soup with very poor presentation. A few Noddles here and there and tons of hard bits you will need to run away and forget about this place.Worst Thai so far in the world.

Mi
Review №45

It used to be my favorite Thai place but the quality has gone down a lot lately, to the extent that I won’t be eating there again, UNLESS I hear of some major quality improvement. The curry in all the dishes I have had lately has been very diluted: watery consistence and very limited flavor. Also the ingredients (seasoning and vegetables) have just been LESS in terms of diversity and quantity.I had a duck curry, which came out super fatty and the sauce was dominated by a strong odor that was on the fishy side. If anyone with a basic sense of smell and no culinary experience had smelled THAT, they would have flushed it down the toilet, not offered it to customers.Sabai SabIai used to be my foolproof recommendation to friends in Zamalek and the surrounding areas, it will go back to being so if you significantly improve quality AND consistency. So good luck.

Review №46

Fair food but not particularly amazing and expensive for what it was. We had two different type of soup: one was oily and poorly flavoured with coconut (which was suppose to be the main ingredient) and the second was super sour with very few main ingredients in it (supposedly noodles and shrimps). Expensive bill for 2 bowls of soup and some tea.

Pretty decent thai food for Cairo, with a really nice papaya salad and even good sticky rice, a rarity here. I lived in Southeast Asia for 5 years, so its good to finally find a place to quench my thai food cravings. Not all dishes are good though and the atmosphere is nothing special. Much better than Birdcage, which is fancy but with disappointing food (I was served papaya salad with ripe papaya once, a no-go).
