Royal yacht marinaKnown as the Revolutionary Command Council BuildingThis architectural masterpiece was established by order of King Farouk in 1949, to be a marina for royal yachts on the banks of the Nile on the island - Zamalek. The building consists of three floors in the shape of the letter H, and includes forty rooms, and there is a large hall in the center of the building, and there is a tower on the northern side of the building, and it rests on the third floor as a base, then an octagonal floor follows that, then it rises The octagonal floor has many cylindrical columns, followed by an iron balustrade and then the top of the tower. The main facade overlooks the Revolutionary Command Council Street, and is characterized by the presence of window openings on two levels, and in the middle of this oasis is the main entrance, and it has an iron door, and on the right and left of this entrance there are two small doors, and at the top of each door is the eagle emblem, which It is based on a rule that contains three words: freedom, socialism, unity, andThe building is surrounded on the north side by the Naval Forces Rest House, on the south side is a hotel, Sofitel Al Jazira in Zamalek, on the east side is the Nile River, and on the west side is the Revolutionary Command Council Street. Its construction took three full years, the work was almost finished at the end of 1951, until the Cairo fire broke out on January 26, 1952, and it remained closed until the army movement (the Free Officers Organization) realized it on July 23, 1952, and the Revolutionary Command Council took it as its headquarters. The importance of the place is due to being a witness to an important historical period in the modern history of Egypt, starting with King Farouk, who ordered its construction and did not set foot, through many important events that made major transformations in modern Egyptian history (1952-1954).This building, which witnessed the rise of Nassers star, and took it as his headquarters during the tripartite aggression against Egypt in 1956, is the same that witnessed his funeral in October 1970.The building contains the microphone from which Sadat broadcast the statement of the revolution, the first flag raised on Sinai land after crossing in 1973, a group of busts of Abdel Nasser and Sadat, the Austin car, which was owned by Abdel Nasser, antiques, a meeting table, and a set of documents and personal files. , which tells the biography of the officers of the revolution. In addition to some other antiquities in the museum, such as a set of gifts presented to Sadat on various occasions, and a set of commemorative postage stamps issued from 1952 to 1960 on the occasion of the revolution holidays. The Permanent Committee of Islamic and Coptic Antiquities issued a decision to consider the building of the Revolutionary Command Council as an antiquity, given that the building witnessed the most important political events in the modern and contemporary history of Egypt, and many fateful decisions were issued among its pillars after the July 23 Revolution of 1952 AD.The importance of the historical building:1- This building was used as a headquarters for the meetings of the Revolutionary Command Council, and it remained a major center for decision-making during the two years following the outbreak of the revolution.2- I announced from this building the most important revolutionary decisions that changed the face of life in Egypt from the dismissal of King Farouk to the confiscation of the money and property of the family of Muhammad Ali3- The Republic was proclaimed from this building4- Announcing the transition period and ending the mission of the Revolutionary Command Council, and assuming its members to other positions in the ministerial and political formations. And other important events such as the issuance of the agrarian reform law, the abolition of parties, revolution trials, the Sudan and evacuation agreements with the British side, which ended the British occupation of Egypt, which lasted for about three quarters of a century. This building also witnessed the events of the March crisis in 1954, which ended with the resolution of the conflict within the Revolutionary Command Council by isolating the late President Major General Muhammad Naguib and keeping him in the Zainab Al-Wakeel Palace in Al-Marj, so that the matter would be settled by Gamal Abdel Nasser and he would assume the reins of power in the country. The Free Officers took the building as a headquarters for the leadership of the July Revolution for two years, to witness the trial of politicians in its halls, the most famous of which is the trial of the Brotherhood on charges of attempting to assassinate President Abdel Nasser in Manshiya Square in 1954, and the trial of Abdel Hakim Amer’s supporters, which intended to overthrow the regime and Abdel Nasser’s resignation after the 1967 setback, as well as the trials of centers Powers during the era of the late President Anwar Sadat in 1971.Transferred to the Museum of the July Revolution Leaders Acquisitions by Republican Decree No. 204 of 1996Finally, on April 10, 2017, a republican decision was issued to include it in the presidential palaces
