When traveling anywhere, especially to places far from our place of residence (Moscow), we always take a camera for birdphotography. Little by little, our collection of photos of birds already has grown up to 690 species. The last trip to Sharm El Sheikh during the Cristmus and New Year holidays was no exception. The main goal, of course, was to bask in the sun and get psychological relief from the continuous series of gloomy cold days of the Moscow winter. January, in the south of the Sinai Peninsula, judging by the data from local residents and information from the Internet, is rather a dead season for the bird photography. Nevertheless, we decided to try our luck. 44 species and 14 lifers is quite a decent result in the off-season. Of course, we saw more species, but only distinctly photographed birds, with a quality more than sufficient for reliable identification, are taken into account.Among our lifers were Arabian and Mourning/Basalt Wheatears (Oenanthe lugentoides and lugens), Great Crested Tern (Thalasseus bergii), White-eyed and Sooty Gulls (Larus leucophthalmus, Ichthyaetus hemprichii), Desert Sandgrouse (Pterocles senegallus) and other wonderful representatives of local avifauna.Most of the photos were taken from the car. The vehicle was provided by the local company Bringgo. Having learned about the purpose of our trip to Ras Mohammed, the owner of the company, Mr. Mostafa, volunteered to go with us as a guide and driver. To a large extent, the success had been achieved thanks to Mr. Mostafas personal hot involvement in the process. He quickly had understood what is required from the driver during a birdphotografy. Very soon our verbal commands became redundant. Mr. Mostafa was quick enough for adequate assessment the external situation and our spontaneous reactions and do exactly what is needed for the success of the process.Of course, for the next birdphoto trip to Nabq, we did not look for another option in terms of vehicles...Excellent transfer service from airport to hotel. Booked a transfer over the phone the day before. Arrived 5.01. 2022 in Sharm El Sheikh. We were met at the exit from the Airport by a decently dressed gentleman with a sign with my name on it. New, clean, comfortable car. Helped with luggage. Briefly, but informatively, he told about various sights and useful objects on the way from the airport to the hotel. No solicitation of tips or from above, as is sometimes the case with Egyptian taxi drivers. The price of the service is at the level of the amounts required by street taxi drivers. The value for money is simply brilliant.
