Amazing lost Roman city in the Red Sea mountain range. Not far from Safaga, but there are no signposts from the road so you just have to use your intuition on the desert trails. No more than 2km from the road.
Old Historical place and unique Experience
Amazing ❤️❤️
A wonderful place that is hard to find between the mountains. An SUV is needed, otherwise it is impossible to get there. Very unusual for the eye settlement, which has not yet been studied archaeologically. I liked it.
Great safari trip, very interesting. Among other things, the pillars of the Vatican broken ..... Many quarry relics and easily recognizable remains of the workers settlement and temples exist ... This quarry from the late Egyptian / Roman times is still quite well preserved. Relics of a viaduct of a water pipe can be found nearby. The rocks were transported from here to the Nile. The huge pillars were rolled down the mountain. Small stone turrets helped guide them in the right direction. Relics are visible.I recommend that you only do the trip with a Bedouin who knows the area. It is a day trip through the desert and recommended in winter, spring and autumn ...Of course you can also get there very quickly via the trunk roads. But the experience of crossing the desert and mountains is incomparably more interesting and I can only recommend it. The Bedouins will also feed you ...
This historic place is located in the middle of the mountains and can only be reached with an all-terrain vehicle.A sand / stone slope leads to this Roman city.At this point you can find a 2,000 year old Roman settlement that has not yet been archaeologically discovered.A city wall surrounds the residential buildings. An interesting place for archaeologists. The gentleman in the Syrian robe is my companion, in Arab countries (traditional areas) we travel in traditional Syrian clothing.
