A reasonable ferry ride to get to Elephantine. Rides are short, about 2 minutes. The price at 5 pounds was pretty reasonable. Very efficient and fast service.

There is a public ferry terminal behind KFC go down the stairs to the water.The waiting area is the yellow seats with a roof. The ferry runs all day between 6 am and midnight.The cost of the ferry for locals is 1 egp in Jan 2017. They will try to charge tourists 2 egp or more.

The boats are rustic, but the ride is very good.
