Perfect place for divers!Everything is very close. Rooms are basic and clean. Very good view to the sea from every room.Good reef and the jetty is just some secionds away. Fair and honest people.Highly recommended!In the restaurant you have to fight a bit that you can order.

We had to checkin at 4 AM in the night and their manager was nothing but helpful, even if sleepy. The rest of the staff doesnt speak English almost at all, might be a little inconvenient sometimes but still they try to be helpful.The room was big with a nice view. The design of the buildings was wonderful, specific to Egypt.The beach was nice and big, has a lot of stores, drinks and eating zones, shops for groceries, etc.The morning breakfast was good, open buffet.The check-out offered a very cheap taxi.

Nice place where to chill having a cup of Egyptian tea with the sound of the sea and the amazing Turquoise water. The people in the area is friendly which it makes you feel very welcome.

Scorpion Diving Club is an excellent place with incredibly good staff. I am a beginner, but I honestly think that the people—instructors, just people who helped—were simply amazing. Very highly recommended.And the red sea is one of the best diving places in the world.

The dive center was helpful in finding me a boat to join that was going to thistlegorm.However, I do have major issues with being charged 40 euros for a camera I never used. The first day of diving I was told there would likely be a camera on the boat and to not worry about renting a camera from the dive shop. Ultimately, there was no camera on the boat, so for the next day of diving I asked to rent a camera but this time there was a camera on the dive so I decided to just buy a few photos from the photographer on the boat and not use the camera from the dive center (which required a selfie stick, which I don’t recommend bringing to thistlegorm given the small spaces). The camera from the dive center never touched the water and stayed in my bag the entire time and upon returning the camera I was still charged 40 euros because they, “had to pay 40 euros to borrow it from their friend.” I have a lot of difficulty believing a friend would charge them 40 euros for a go pro.As for the room, it was basic. There were a lot of mosquitos in the room and it was obvious nobody had cleaned it for a long time as brown rusted colored water ran through the faucet/shower and the floors were very dusty. They provide a mosquito net, so I definitely recommend using it at night. No issues at all with the breakfast.The hotel’s convenience store was closed the entire time, which was an issue because there is nothing close by the hotel and leaving required a taxi ride to go anywhere. The WiFi was poor. I paid for them to drop me off at the bus station but the hotel driver dropped me off at the wrong location and when he was told it was the incorrect station, he drove off anyway and I had to pay for a taxi to the other bus station.In the end, the diving was incredible regardless of the poor experience with the hotel and dive center.

One of the best places on the coast of the Red Sea, there I have been.

Was there for 5 days in October, diving with friends. Returned after many years of absence. I can say that the club is really great in terms of facility, location and above all - the staff. Always helpful, available and professional (both above and under water). Didnt stay at the accommodations there, but having checked the rooms, will definitely do so next time (probably the upper suites, rather than the lower wood bungalows).

Loved diving in the Red Sea! After spending a couple of days in Hurghada and going with a boat out to snorkel, we flew over to Sharm el Sheikh and spent a few nights at Sharks Bay (pronounced sharkys bay). We stayed in a little chalet and had direct access to the beach and floating pier. You can bring your own gear or rent for a small fee at the resort. Keep off the coral as its protected but also dangerous! Use the floating pier, dont need to swim out far to see beautiful sea life, they are literally everywhere and curious to see you too.We visited restaurants around the area as well as the nearby shopping centre where you can get your groceries, typical comfort foods, Starbucks and duty free shops.

We spend a bit more than one week at Umbi, including Beduin Village rooms and 4 days Scuba-Safari on their boat Freedom III. The experience was great.All diving instructors were excellent: Sharky, Mahmud, Hasan, Ahmed, Hani and Adel ...we learned a lot from them, and had great dives!Something special at Umbi is the human contact with the personnel: after a few days you get to know all of them, as this is a small place and you do not feel one out of 2000 other guests, as it happens many of the typical all inclusive huge hotels in Sharm. Thank you all for your patience before, during and after our stay (Madonna representing all of them!!).A few additional elements: the beach is very nice, easily accessible day and night, and it is always easy to find space. The food at the restaurant is a-la-carte, local, delicious and food with very good quality/price ratio. The rooms in the Beduin Village are very nice and personalized. The air conditioning is working well and it is a great relief after a long day in the warm Egypt weather. The wifi is not the best strength of the village, but with patience you can find places where you can connect. The Beduin bar at night, with Shisha, is offering a very special atmosphere.Prices are fair and service is pleasant!We missed you so much that we decided to come back for 2 additional boat dive tours once we had already moved to the second hotel planned for our holiday.Now that we are back home, we are already planning to our next stay!Looking forward to visiting you againBarbara & family

Very authentic place, good choice if you want to hideway from the crowd. They have nice zula (bedouin tent) facing to the sea. You get more than what you pay for! Staff is very friendly and ready to help.Order a Bedouin fish in the seafood restaurant! Especially good is a kushar (grouper) fish cooked bedouin style.

I used to that place round ten years now,But now the umbi cafe guest arent allowed to swim free as before it charge 75 pound per person for using the beach , and they dont provide WiFi...

The accommodation I stayed in (beach Hut) was basic, but comfortable. My dive instructor Atham was incredible and very patient with me. The setting by the beach is absolutely beautiful and the shisha lounge is cheap and flavorful.

UMBI Sharks bay is a marvelous village climbing a picturesque cliff over beautiful reef and the beach at Sharks Bay of Sharm el Sheikh.Its quite unique place. Any one with style will love it. Especially if one is a diver!In its own separate category Umbi definitely a 5 star place!Besides from its beauty and style, the very history of the place is absolutely unique and amazing.Our best recommendations.

The PADI Travel invoice for my scuba dive live aboard referenced full gear hire for 25 euros. It references this as one payment. Granted, this is cheap, however, that is the amount specified. This is presented in the same way as the full gear hire for the 7 day live aboard on the Spirit of Freedom on the Australian Great Barrier Reef. The gear hire for Spirit of Freedom is presented as 1 x payment of $270.Upon completion of my live aboard, the dive shop at Sharks Bay attempted to charge me 35 euros per day for full gear hire, plus 9 euros/day for a dive computer and 9 euros/day for a torch. I immediately showed the invoice from Padi Travel. The full gear hire was subsequently reduced to 25 euros/day, however, I was still charged per day, and for the torch and computer separately.At this juncture, I would to identify that I used most of the gear for between 1 - 2 days and was still charged a full 3 days. However, I could have stomached this cost if the gear was in good working order.Unfortunately, the gear was faulty and I was not provided any replacement, nor compensation. The primary regulator was leaking water while I was breathing. I identified this issue during the check dive and did not receive a replacement. Subsequently, I was forced to use the back up for the 2.5 days, which was unsafe to say the least. Secondly, the BCD was constantly leaking air. Again, this was identified during my safety dive and ignored. Yes, I could have refused to dive without a replacement, but I was told I would receive no refund. Stupidly, perhaps, I continued.I found the whole experience regarding gear hire to be highly disappointing. At the very least, I found the gear hire charges on PADI Travel to be misleading, if not grossly misrepresented. Regarding the dive shop itself, they appear to be purposefully taking advantage of divers who would prefer not to travel with their dive gear. Further, their gear is woefully faulty and I would recommend not hiring from them.

Always one of my favorite spots in Sharm el sheikh. Variety of open buffet breakfast. Room with AC, fridge and private bathroom. Very reasonable price and pleasant stay. Love it

Its the best place I always go to relax and feel comfortable the view of the sea while having coffee is priceless also the service and staff are very good ,however their jetty needs more attention but too much traffic on it with this bad maintenance I dont recommend safety always first

Good food for the right price, really chill vibes in a private beach and super helpful and kind staff.We were really afraid of diving but we did the introduction and found one of the best experiences in our life. Conveniently located, clean enough. Exit to the sea from the equipped ramp. The advantage of this place, of course, is the beautiful reef. You should definitely snorkel here! The hotel itself is located in a mountainous area, so some rooms need to get up and down the stairs. The beach is right next to the hotel, there are restaurants with delicious food and a dive center. Close to the airport.

A good experience in this hotel. It is perfect to be relaxed and enjoy its beach and snorkel in its coral reef. The rooms are simple but spacious, well cared for and with sea views. On the negative side, I can say that it is far from the center and it is difficult to take a taxi

Pros: location, view from the window, polite, comfortable bed. staff. Cons: plumbing (its easier to wash your head in the sea, very little water pressure, everything leaks), sheets instead of a duvet cover, breakfast is not very good. And audibility !!! Here you can hear everything and everyone.
