Saint Mina was born in Egypt in 285 in Nisse, near the city of Memphis. His parents were known Christians, the name of his father Odysseus and the name of an illiterate nation. His mother was deaf, she had no children, and she prayed with many tears before the image of the Immaculate Saint Mary and asked her to intercede with the Lord to give her a child. At one time when I finished praying I heard a voice saying Amen. When the Lord answered her, he gave her a son named Mena. His father occupied a great position in the Roman Empire, but died when Meena was 14 years old. After that, Mina joined the army and was given a large position because of his fathers fame. The Emperor sent him to Algeria but resigned from the army three years later. St. Mina went to the desert and decided to live a different life and devote his heart and his life to Jesus. He lived for five years as a knessack and saw different visions of angels crowned by the martyrs of the beautiful camel. And one day, thinking of these apparitions, he heard a voice saying to him, Blessed are you, Father Mina, because you have been called to the life of piety since your youth. You will merit three wreaths, a crown of virginity, a crown of thanksgiving and a third crown of martyrdom. The saint was always busy thinking and longing for the great life in heaven. With great courage, he went to the governor to declare his faith in Christ. He ordered the governor to torture him with a great deal of suffering, but Marminna carried these pains, which attracted many pagans, not only for Christianity but also for martyrdom. When St. Martina was martyred, they attempted to burn his pure body, and burned a large fire and put his pure body in it, but the fire did not affect him. Then some of the faithful came and put the body of Marmina Tahir on camels and headed for the Western Sahara. In this place there is now the Great Martyr al-Ajaybi Monastery in Mariout near Alexandria. A few years later, one of the shepherds grazed the sheep in this area. He had a sick sheep on the ground, and when the lamb was very surprised the shepherd because the lamb was completely cured of his illness. This story spread quickly and some patients came to this place and when they sit on the sand in this place they clear whatever type of disease. At that time King Zenon, a lover of Christ, the daughter of a very sick patient and could not be treated, suggested that his advisers try to visit this place. When the kings daughter went to this place, sand was placed from the place on her body, and at night St. Marina appeared to her in a dream and told her that his body was buried in this place. In the morning I went to shower in Lake Mariot and recovered from her illness. I told the servants with her the vision I had seen. When her father, King Zenon, learned of this, he ordered the digging of the place, taking out the holy body of Mermina and building a great cathedral in this place. As well as urging the rich to build palaces and housing for them in this place. It was not long before there was a great city named St. in this place. It was known for its marble buildings. Many patients from all over the world came to visit this place and were cured of their diseases by the intercession of Saint Marmina Ajaybi because many miracles and miracles happened because of his intercession. The ceramic bottles (clay bottles) filled with water or oil for the pond were given to visitors. The city remained great until the Arabs entered Egypt, began to neglect and ruin in the city. In the time of Harun al-Rashid there was a brutal attack on the city and most of it was burned. In the time of the wali al-Mamun, the governor of Egypt ordered the destruction of the whole city. And seized the marble columns and used in the construction of palaces and mosques. In the fourteenth century some people found in Mariot a wooden box. They brought this box to the governor, and he opened it and found inside it a group of bones wrapped in cloth. He ordered the cook to throw the box into the fire. Then the cook went in the night to prepare the food and found a column of light rising from the fire from the place of the bones of the saint. Pope Benjamin ordered the transfer of the bones of the saint to the church of St.Mermina with the mouth of the bay (ancient Egypt - Cairo). Only in the 20th century did international missions begin to search for the destroyed archaeological city. After St. Cyril VI became Patriarch in 1958, he laid the foundation stone of a large monastery and a great cathedral in the name of the martyr Marmina, near the citys ancient site. Pope Cyril had previously become a saintly patriarch of St. Mary and became a sacred friend of the saint in heaven with people on earth. But how can we be clean to become friends and ten with the saints in heaven? In the days of the blessed Pope Cyril VI, God blessed us with a great monastery for martyred martyr to visit him and ask for his prayers and prayer for us before the Lord of glory.
