A piece of Egyptian history different from the usual circuit. It dates back to a more contemporary age. By hiring a guide we enjoyed modern history and the profound diversity from the ancient kingdom to the present day. You can see the presidential rooms, the house and the embalming museum. For those who want to enter there is also the mosque. The garden is like a botanical garden with plants from all over the world.
It’s really wonderful historical placeDifferent decorations with very nice colours and style .Throne room is wonderfulThere is also hunting museumOnly one comment when I was thereThe place was not really clean 😞 and dust cover everything there .I hope they renovate some things and clean allI know there is there a plan for that but I hope soon♥️
Gorgeous architecture and beautiful gardens! You get a glimpse into a lot of the rooms and luxury of the age.You need only 1-2 hours for this lovely walk. Preferably go in good weather to enjoy the gardens (plus the interiors are poorly ventilated and no air conditioning is in place). Pictures allowed, but videos and professional cameras need special permissions.
One of the modern historical palaces as it was built in 1901, it belongs to the modern Islamic architecture, it has a variety of ceramic walls all over the place, it has a historic watch in its tower that resembles the one located in London, the most wonderful area are the gardens that include Old trees and some rare plants
Amazing Palace that lays on a branch of the Nile. You enter the facility and are greeted by a beautiful and grandios gate . Up on this gate you can see an Egyptian Mashrabiya that dates to the 19th/early 20thcentury. You grab your tickets and are ready to visit the 5 sections of the museum. First you go to the Iqama Palace , where the prince lived , and which is furnished and adorned with gold . There is also the throne hall, which presents all the pashas and mamluks of Egypt starting from Mohamed Ali Pasha to the latest Khedive Abbas II. There is also the clock tower and the Mosque which was interestingly always open for the public to attend the call to prayer on Fridays and special events . Finally , the museum also has a hunting lodge section where the mummified hunts of the prince are presented with information on their species ,etc.I really enjoyed my visit and find this museum really worthwhile. One must visit this museum at least once in his lifetime!
Very impressive place. The ticket fee is 5 le for Egyptians. The place is easy to reach. The garden there reminded me of Aswan botanical garden. I was impressed mainly by the great details of the ceiling of most of the buildings there. The only concern was the car parking, there was no parking so it is better to visit it without car.
Interesting place.I recommend that you visit it during the morning. Its a nice palace but the gardens arent accessible. Very interesting interior design and architecture.Youll need a couple of hours to visit it and enjoy the scenery and the multiple sections inside. Its affordable and worth the ticket price.NEVER ASK ANYONE FOR HELP because theyll start telling you details you can actually read and theyll annoy you by constantly asking for tips or money.
Its nice visit and I would recommend it. My only comment is that when we entered the palace we was told that the upstairs is under maintenance ? (They should have told us when we paid for the tickets) It was frustrating.. the guide employee were very nice he showed us a filming video of the upstairs rooms.. the throne room apparently it has a second floor but we weren’t told also. The guides are very nice and welcoming, but we kinda felt with two of them (we saw 4 for each stop of the palace there were one guide) that they want us to give tips “baksheesh” ? don’t know why! The are employees! It does puts a pressure on the visitors wish they would read this :(.
Its beautiful but some places are closed for visitors, even some parts of garden and you cant shoot with camera... I cant see any good reason for this.
Beautiful place. So grand. One suggestion i would make to the management is to install spotlights or better lighting in the rooms so we can see them clearer.
A very beautiful historical palace for his highness prince Mohamed Ali Tawfik (1875 - 1955). He was the son of Khedive Tewfik I and Emina Ilhamy, and the younger brother of Khedive Abbas II. The palace is located in Manial neighborhood in Cairo, not far from city center and garden city. It is a wonderful place with wonderful architecture.
The place was built by a prince of the royal family of Egypt, named Mohammed Ali, not the Great, this prince was the regent of Egypts throne in the thirties of the past century. He build this palace with the aim for it to be a museum for all Egyptians, as an expression of his love to his country. The style of architecture is strongly affected by Ottoman Islamic arts, you can find the symbol of the Ottoman Empire, the Sun with Rays, all over the place and in the smallest details.
A unique piece of art. Dont forget to check the 36 different ceilings all over the Palace. However, wasnt able to check the whole Palace as some areas are under renovation now.
Beautiful place in history, with lots of ceramic tiles and elaborate decorations. Well maintained gardens sprawling over a good sized grounds.Entrence fees are 100 L.E. for foreigners and 20 L.E. for locals. It is worth having a guide to walk through times in history. There is a mosque, a hunting lodge, with interesting taxidermy, clock tower, palace and throne hall. They are all worth a visit. There is also a private photograph exhibition worth perusing.
Good for one to two hours.it,s a pity the park area is closed cause that would be a reason to go there again.lunch break cause of praying🤭 so the visitors need to wait or leave🙄
A significant landmark in Cairos modern history, yet the spacious palace gardens are severely neglected. The contemporary scattered buildings of the palace are moderately preserved, however information boards lack details and appeal. Theres also a small hunting exhibition inside the facility, which should display some of the hunt preys at the time, but theres no information to exhibit which of the displayed animals were hunted at which time and by whom. All in all, this place could be visited on the route of a multi destination trip in order to get less disappointed than I did.
Its the first time for me to visit it, it was amazing even if I couldnt have access to the second floor (temporary closed),hows it was as well first time to know Mohamed ali palace is different than Mohammed Ali Mosque (he is his grandfather) ...The Architect, interior design at the place is Amazing! You gonna enjoy it for sure.
It is some sort of a hidden gem as being not that well known to everybody. It has a very cheap ticket and comprises several sections and buildings constructed and designed by the princes own vision. The decoration elegance and the stories underlying the princes intentions for building this palace and his decoration choices are all quite impressive. There are different parts, one room for special guests, the bedrooms, the dining room, the ladies seating room, hunting museum, the outdoor gardens..etc. Finally, it is quite hard to go with a private car due to the congestion and parking unavailability, so a taxi is much easier.Very impressive place. The ticket fee is 5 le for Egyptians. The place is easy to reach. The garden there reminded me of Aswan botanical garden. I was impressed mainly by the great details of the ceiling of most of the buildings there. The only concern was the car parking, there was no parking so it is better to visit it without car.
Prince Muhammad Ali Palace in Manial, Manial Palace, Mohamed Ali Palace Museum in Manial, or Manial Palace Museum is one of the palaces of the royal era in Egypt with a special architectural character. The construction of the palace began in 1901. It is located on Manial El-Rawda Island in Cairo, on an area of 61,711 square meters, of which 5,000 square meters represents the area of buildings. The palace is a unique architectural masterpiece as it includes various Islamic styles of art between Fatimid, Mamluk, Ottoman, Andalusian, Persian and Shami. It has a wall in the style of the walls of medieval fortresses, while its palaces are surrounded from the inside by gardens that include a rare collection of trees and plants. The palace is currently used as a museum.
Amazing Palace. This is full of history and a lot of thoughts went into this treasured place. It is a good idea to have preserved this heritage and to share it with the world. When you pass through Cairo or visiting, this a place you want to pay a visit to.It almost feels like everything is mummied in the museum inside the palace.I had a good time learning about Muhammad Ali.
As tourguide & one of the persons who enjoy the monuments & the culture of this country i really want to say that this muesum is one of the best Museums i havd visited in Egypt so if you are visiting egypt or passing through egypt in a tour do not forget to go see prince Mohamed Alis muesum made at 1901 in qasr el ainy its not that old though but , its still holding the smell of history that you will find in every antiqute , palace , muesum and monument in egyptThis is omnia el minyawi & this is what you are seeking for ♥📸🇪🇬
Love it!!!.. outstanding landmark, great architecture with attention to many details in every inch of the buildings. there are so many to visit: a mosque, 3 residential buildings (palace), hunting gallery and vast green areas (garden) including very rare species of plants. the place is a living museum.I would highly recommend visit this location as part of your in-Cairo tour, even that parking is not easy around the palace.
Outstanding beautiful palace, it is a unique experience beholding all ornaments inside all the rooms and halls, tickets are reasonable price ₤100 Egyptian (about €5); it is worth paying for making pictures (you need to buy an additional ticket) with camera if you own one since it costs ₤50 Egyptian (approximately €2.50) yet photos with mobiles are allowed/tolerated for free; making videos is prohibited and personnel are strict about it; gardens are huge and nice; unfortunately much of stuffed animals are covered with dust. Anyway, it is a wonderful experience visiting this site. Recommendable absolutely.
Amazing place. Extravagantly constructed and very well maintained.Every roof of the palace has a different design. Wooden roof designs are very unique and highly inspired by different contemporary arts and crafts.Royal bedroom of kings mother is inspired by spanish interior and is amazingly well set.You can find the first breed of air conditioners installed in early 1900s.Amazing experience.A must visit place in Cairo.
The Place is magical and its a must Visit, wheelchair access to some of the areas such as the second floor of royal entrance wont be accessible. You will pay for extra if you have a DSLR camera, or any camera. Mobile could be used easily without problems. The only one thing that really bothered me, are the personals and the security. Anything else is amazing.
Finally got to visit this place. It was totally worth it. Its beautifully preserved. The blue tiling throughout the buildings are magnificent. The gardens are perfect for wandering around in (although not all of the garden is open to guests). The men who are the guardians at each building have good information about each area (went with an Arabic speaker; some of them spoke English as well). Its a quiet reprieve from the noisy street outside. I definitely recommend a visit. Great for kids as well; my son loved the Hunting Museum with all of the taxidermy. Neat collection. No vehicles so kids can run freely.
Amazing,Wonderful place full of of Art. Ministry of tourism provide free tour with a tour guide there
The Manial Palace is the former palace of Prince Mohammed Ali Tewfik built in an eclectic mix of Art Nouveau, Rococo, Ottoman, Moorish, Persian architectural styles. The grounds of the palace are quite large, but possible to cover in a couple of hours. There are several buildings, plus the gardens to visit, but the highlights of the palace complex are throne room and palace building where all the aforementioned architecture are on full display. Both these feature some truly photogenic opportunities.
MAKE SURE to check the prince living quarter is open for visitors when you buy tickets, otherwise not worth the visit!! many reviews mentioned that its sometimes closed to public! The princes palace is located in a large complex with lush greens covering most of the area. The princes living quarter is quite fascinating and extremely well maintained with much of the ceramic and wooden decors kept in pristine conditions. The Ottoman and European influenced architecture offers an very interesting glimpse into the lifestyle of an Egyptian prince.
A very nice place to visit. Its quiet and not crowded with people. Very cheap, I paid only 20 L.E. (Students ticket+ photos ticket). Quite interesting sculptures, rooms, a mosque, a hunting house and a garden. However, I dont think the place is being taken care of very well thats why I gave it four stars.
Prince Mohammed Ali was known to have a unique personality. He sold his palace and gardens located at Sloiman Basha Square and Kaser Elneel when the area became crowded in 1906 to build his current palace at Manial at an isolated corner. When I visited his palace, first thing to notice is dirty passages and poor maintenance of the rare gardens.Inside the palace dust and poor illumination. There is an error in the English description of the palace on the right side of its enterance says It is contains .....I politely made couple of supervisors aware of that mistake that should be corrected. You will be amazed of those wonderful detailed decorations of that relatively small palace.I hope on next visit to see better attention to light/ illumination and cleaniness of that magnificent piece of art.
One of the BEST sites I have ever visited in Cairo. Architecturally indescribable, furniture and assets are to absolutely die for and dont get me started on the greenery. It is like entering paradise, except in the middle of Cairo (traffic is barely heard from the inside!) I highly highly recommend this visit.
It was like a waste of time!Everything was dirty, dusty, and smells like dust everywhere, nothing was clean. All the gardens were closed, it was just a straight way to just 3 small buildings that have Muhmad Ali belongings and the hunting house, all of them were covered with lots of dust and nothing important to see, I don’t know if that’s because they were are doing constructions or something, but anyways I don’t recommend it at all :(
Very nice place. It was really worth it. After 5 weeks in Egypt, this is one of the few places that has something to show you. The entrance fee 100EGP or 50EGP for students. You can make photos with your phone, if you want to take photos with a camera, there is a separate fee for it or you leave it at ticket office. It was the first place where we had a guide and he said he does it voluntarily without asking for money or something. It’s a must to see place.
Very wonderful historical place,But the guides arent quite as expected
Gorgeous palace with many architectural influences including Ottoman, Moorish and Persian. This late baroque master piece of a palace will surely impress! Once in the main residence, you can immediately tell that no expenses were spared building this marvel of a place and that is part of the reason why it is so well preserved.
A great historical palace you feel like you are in the 20th century very clean and its easy to go there
A beautiful landmark for a glimpse of our history.. recommended for a lovely day trip
A real Gem palace in the middle of Cairo. We were welcomed and accompanied by a tourism student (shout out to Reda!!)Who made our trip enjoyable, as part of her summer training. The palace was built by the grandson of the famous “Mohammad Ali”He was next successor to rule Egypt, however he never made it to the throne! The palace is a wonderful story of a lost dream of an interesting prince! You will find Different rooms from Turkey, Lebanon and Europe. French designs and golden artifacts.Mosque, hunting museum, clock tour, garden and rare furniture collections of a palace built 1905.The palace shows kindness, love and benevolence.Every ceiling is an architect masterpieceColors, furnitures, walls, smell and ambiance makes you live the history once again!Only thing it needs is Air-condition!Thanks to the student tour guide who made the palace comes alive :)I wish all students would get the chance to tell the world about our wonderful EgyptEgypt came first then history started!!!
Excellent landscapes and very amazing palace
The worst thing about the place is the workers . The place is amazing but needing more care . I think they could invest more in lighting as the place is bad lit so you cannot see the antiques clearly . And the garden was too noisy because there was a party there !
The palace is wonderful n beautiful. We enjoyed the end Oct cool breeze around the palace. Be careful if you go on Friday, they close from 11:30am-12:30pm for prayer. We arrived at 11, the lady at the counter did not inform us and by 12:30pm, only half way through the palace, they kicked us out. We asked if we can we enter after that, the same lady said no, we hv to buy new ticket. I was furious, and another man came n said we can re enter without charge. And this lady speaking in Arabic, telling the man not to tell us that (as we understand arabic). Such bad person - a pic of her in blue standing at the counter. Anyhow we came back at 1pm n continue the tour.
An amazing place from the Royal Era.. Marvelous architecture and green gardens spot.
This is a great place to visit if you love historical architecture. The interiors of these places blow you away. The guides arent very knowledgeable and will say any old thing to impress you and get a 20 LE tip. One kept telling me over and over again that everything is hand made. I was like what else would it be in 1870?
