A nice place to eat. The food were larger in portion once, but now it seemed a bit average. The food taste however was good, although a bit pricy. The place is not that big, but comfortable enough to enjoy your meal. Parking would be a bit of a problem, but the workers outside might help. The waiting service could be better, but otherwise acceptable for a high-end place.
Lets start by being square and fair: This is the most famous spot for kebab and grills to the extent that it has become synonymous with typical oriental grill house and roastery.Yet, when you want to get to bottom of things, you are underserved if you stick to menu prices. A generous tip will fix things instantly, though still imperfectly compared to what was served 20 years ago.True to market trends, you should expect little better elsewhere, but you feel ripped off all along.
No one greet you or smile in your face while getting in or out, only frauns and weired stare. The waiter was ignorant and could not help about the size of the plate or quantity. There was an offer to get a mixed grill plate with 30% discount during January but the waiter insisted he did not know the actual coast in order to make me get the mixed grill in the menu without the discount. The waiter did not suggest anything to me but I heard him suggesting and explaining what they had for the next table who came 20 minutes later. The owner was screaming loudly at one of the employees and ordering him to go and change his shirt and shoes in front of the clients although such displain should be in privacy. Although it was a closed space, however people were smoking freely and there is no dedicated corner for non-smokers. The prices are expensive and not matching the food quantities. I dont recommend this restaurant.
Horrible! It’s waaaay overpriced for the quality and quantity, the grilled chicken fillet was cold- very dry like it was made from wood and they were 3 tiny pieces and the other items were the same as the grilled chicken poor quality, very small portions.. I don’t recommend it.
Great food and service. A lot of the locals recommend this place for a slightly upscale menu wirh good pricing.
Lets all agree that Cairo has a serious problem with food. Food is simply BAD here. This evening I ordered a mixed grill meal and a baladi salad from Abu Shakra. Everything about the order was just fine, with two reservations however: rice portion is so small, and the dish presentation was simply primitive (disproportionately big platter, compared to the anemic portions, with scattered pieces of meat and a clumsy little pyramid of rice)Order came fast and warm directly from the grill, this is a huge plus. The place is relatively clean, but its also very compact with no exterior view.Compared to the price tag of $10, its a good deal, but when put in the context of regional food capitals such as Beirut or Istanbul, with this price odds become a bit different.5 stars for good taste, speed, cleanliness and helpful staff. Minus 1 star for little portions and bad presentation.
The place is very expensive, but the quality of food is good, the staff need to be more helpful
Poor service and bad food. When i asked them about the promotion that was advertised on my very table top they denied knowing anything about it and refused to give it to me. They dont accept credit cards abd use cash only. The food is of poor quality
Cozy, clean, good service, Delicious, but very expensive
Good food but not that okay service , busy and small area that you feel you are sitting on each other lab
Taste is good price little pricey but worth it
Best food with high quality
Good Quality but small amounts compared to costStaff not freindlly
Good food, but the place needs serious renovation,
Very bad food quality compared to the price you pay .
Good tastes good but they try to rip off tourists. They added items to my receipt and gave me an Arabic only receipt. After being called out thru claimed it was a mix up and only removed one item until I complained again.
The food was not a lot and not very tasty. Its an expensive place. I would recommend people to go to gad instead. Me and my friends paid 80 le for service. The waiter became very grumpy when I didnt want to pay tips, very rude.
The best food u can eat down town
The best grill restaurants in whole egypt, same quality for 20 yearsValue for money
Yummy food but no place to park your car
Over priced, small portions, weak service. If you must go then order the chicken panih.
Food not fresh and the service bad
Food was below average not freshly cooked. Servers were ghetto, rude.. Bill was doubled what you suppose to pay according their announced prices... Never again
Love the food, the shish tawook is simply awesome. Highly recommended. Very clean place.
Good food, unfriendly staff , really disappointed with the service
Never go there unless you are prepared to pay a lot for a very bad quality foodSoup was tastelessEven Tahina was the worst I have ever tastedVery small portion size compared to priceA lot of surcharge fees. They are gouging the customers by miscalculated tax and services and other unique surchargesI paid more than 35 USD for what usually costs less than 25 USD at other better places minus the bad experience
The environment and good is ok..but the waiter asked for tips even though we paid 26%service charge and vat..this is not right..after paying so much u cannt ask for more
THE absolute worst branch Ive ever been to. Half the food is unavailable, terrible seating, the only place for a party of 5 is a crammed 2x3 meters room, the smallest in the restaurant.Barely passable customer service.Never going back there ever again if its the last open branch in the country.
The staff isnt helpful and food delivery was very late
Nice and tasty food it’s fresh and hot. The staff are good, polite, and amazing. When we always visit abu shakra they always have a special treatment for us which makes us love visiting the place a lot.
This is wrong address, the correct address for this branch beside Alkasr Al AlAiny hospital not Tahrir square, 11 minutes walking
Very expensive and not the best restaurant in down town
The best oriental grilled food in the middle east, Kasr Eleini branch is full of history and memories, its also expensive compared to other names in business but this will never make me take out a star, 5 will deserved stars
High quality food
Tasty to the point of drooling when you think about it again. Very expensive of course. High class.
Small amount and there is no quality , you feel like you ate from any peddler
Very clean, arranged place and delicious food
Excellent food and nice seating
Its prices very expensive but its presents good service
Previously was the best grilled oriental beef meat (Kabab) in Cairo, however quality is lessened and many other restaurants are serving similar type of meat with much better meat quality and customer service, not to mention competitive prices
The place is a good but a bit expensive
Best Kebab I ever had. Tried the pigeon too, but didnt like it.
You can order to other people.very over price comparing to other famous Haty such as El Dahan
Dirty people with rotten behavior in which they are always sending dirty looks to all the ladies there
It doesnt worth a single cent. Everything is bad
Not very good restaurant
Pre fixe lunch while on tour at the pyramids and Sphinx! Great flavor, fast service and everyone was friendly and service oriented.

The original taste of Egypt!
Old school egyptian food.If you want to know what Egyptians ate on their special day out 70 years ago then order their mixed grill. They have changed their menu a lot since then but their mixed grill remain one of the most popular and most authentic Egyptian grill experience around.Prices are inexpensive for what you get.
Excellent Egyptian food
MEAT WAS NICE. WARAK 3ENAB WAS DRY AND INEDIBLE. OVEERALL AVERAGE
Decent oriental Food
Very delicious 😋
Too expensive for what you get.
Great food and service. This is the oldest and best Abu Shaqra Restaurant in Cairo. Stuffed pigeons were delicious. So was the Mulokhiyya stew and breaded chicken breasts.

Adorable
Excellent
Foods are well served
My requests were:Kofta - French fries - salad - bread - bechamel pastaThe kofta is somewhat acceptableThe salad was depicted as the same as the authority of the people of Egypt, who cut tomatoes, cucumbers, dill and onions, but the one who reached the salad of the pieces was very large, the lettuce divided in two halves only 🥲Pasta with bechamel is bad and cant be eatenFried potatoes 🤢The bread arrived without a bag, oh yeah
An ancient Egyptian restaurant serving delicious Egyptian grills, delicious Egyptian dishes and Egyptian cuisine. The thing that attracts me most to this restaurant is the charming Egyptian tahini, which is served as you cannot find anything like it anywhere and can be eaten with bread and with great pleasure. The grills in Abu Shakra are very good but not the best compared to other restaurants. The tomatoes (okra and molokhia) are very beautiful ..The fried rubber plate has an excellent taste.Grape leaves are good but a little dry ...The sessions and venue are good and the tables are close together. The service is a bit modest ..The price for taste and service is acceptable ..
A very chic restaurant, the prices are good, the food is good, the place is sterile, the pick-up is the top of taste, and we are very committed to the precautionary measures.Thank you for the nice complimentary dessertNote only the place on the map. Wrong. The restaurant is located on Al Qasr Al Aini Street, next to Al Qasr Al Aini Hospital. It is not in the center of the country. Please amend the address on the map
