The Minya Sheikhdom Council is one of the eight Evangelical Synod of the Nile complex.The Evangelical Synod of the Nile is the only agency entrusted with organizing and caring for all Presbyterian Evangelical churches in Egypt and the Diaspora.As for the word synod, it is a Greek word σύνοδος meaning the synod, and the evangelical synod of the Nile, meaning the complex of evangelical churches in Egypt .. It was established in 1898 AD and included four sub-councils, namely the Lower Egypt complex (the Delta), and the central regions (Fayoum, Beni Suef and Minya), And Assiut, and the south (Sohag, the upper regions and Sudan).This division was presented to the American General Assembly for approval, and the assembly approved this division and the members of the Nile Synod met for the first time on May 11, 1899 AD in Assiut and under the presidency of Dr. Watson, and it was decided to hold it annually on the night of the first Saturday of February every year.During the twentieth century, the number of councils increased until in 1980 AD their number reached eight mosques inside Egypt divided geographically (including 700 churches), namely:1- Cairo Complex.2- Delta Complex.3- Middle regions complex.4- Minya complex.5- Mallawi complex.6- Assiut Complex.7- Sohag complex.8- The complex of the upper regions
