The place is really beautiful and has potential. However, it is poorly managed and the food is horrid. I didnt expect to find readymade procesed spicy chicken as the main meat dish in an eco-lodge. The place needs a competent chef who can reflect the richness and tastfulness of the local cuisine.
Amazing place, full of authenticity and belief of what egypt culture should be. I felt the love of the place and how eco friendly it is and the stuff is amazing and helpful especially khaled... during our stay we enjoyed the calmness and beauty and we also had fun desert walks around the lodge.. not to mention the beautiful ancient hermopolis and tal el amarna which is full of really impressive historical stories. Dr Mervat who runs the place deliver her passion about ancient egypt by giving you a story about every thing starting from the food till the building and place etc. she is an amazing person and true egyptian. The place runs only on groups as it is not functional all the time and dont expect a 5 stars place in the end it is in the desert perfectly safe, and have all what you need for a retreat
Even though the place has amazing architecture and clean rooms, I can never recommend it. Awful food. Faulty plumbing that causes horrible smell in the bathroom / room.
Lovely place. Doctor Mervat is full of knowledge about the area. Reservation needed as its not always open and ready.
The star is for the wonderful architecture and setting. The place has lots of potential.
Beautiful place
Wonderful place with a lot of potential, unfortunately with horrible management!
The place is lovely and feels so good. But, maintenance and comfort are lacking. No bath towels, room was not cleaned. It is an eco lodge, but it needs some real care to reach its full potential.
The standard of hygiene and sterilization is very poor @ it is a place for the forced only
A village built in the style of architect Hassan Fathi for those who want life away from the civil
