This is not the souvenir market. This is a wonderfully (produce focused) market for locals, located near the train station. Its loud with venders calling out their goods and wonderfully authentic. Vendors were warm and welcoming and many were happy to allow photos.

This is the saddest souk I have ever been in. There are barely any people and it is basically Westerners getting hassled to buy cheap Chinese souvenirs. The ones in Cairo are so much better. Don’t waste your time coming here.
