The college was established by the decision of the stadium, Dr. Prime Minister No. 140 of 2000, provided that the Faculty of Medicine of Benin in Cairo is affiliated with Al-Azhar University.The Prime Minister’s Decree No. 963 of 2001 dated Rabi ’al-Akher 20 of 1422 AH corresponding to July 11, 2001 AD, was issued regarding the conversion of the branch of the Faculty of Medicine, Boys, New Damietta, Damietta Governorate, to be an independent college affiliated to Al-Azhar University.* The decision of His Excellency Sheikh Al-Azhar No. 180 of 2002 dated 23 of Dhul-Qidah 1422 AH corresponding to February 6, 2002 approving the application of the internal regulations of the Faculty of Medicine Boys at Al-Azhar University in Cairo issued by the decision of Sheikh Al-Azhar No. 914 of 1990 on the Faculty of Medicine Boys in Al-Azhar University in New Damietta Governorate Damietta* * The Faculty of Medicine of Al-Azhar in Damietta, like its counterparts from the other colleges in Egyptian universities, is teaching medical subjects and conducting scientific research in the field of treatment, prevention, and provision of health care* Al-Azhar College of Medicine is distinguished from its colleagues from other medical colleges by studying Islamic subjects decided by the university* The college also expresses and disseminates the Arab-Islamic medical heritage, preserves high Islamic values, and provides its students with what benefits them.** From here, the aim of the establishment of this college was to provide the nation and the Islamic world with doctors, scientists who are proficient alongside various medical sciences - jurisprudence, belief, Sharia, hadith and the Noble Qur’an.

The first medical school in Port Said and Damietta area was the actual work in 2000 and now occupies a special place amid the medical field in the region and in a short time became a competitive college
