The museum was built in 1932 to house the numerous antiquities discovered while digging the Suez canal (1859-1869). During the construction of the sweet water canal, which leads from the river Nile to the Suez Canal, a portion of the ancient settlement of Tell el-Maskhuta (Pithom) was unearthed and statues from the ancient temple of Atum emerged. Over the time more artefacts were included from different sites so that the Museum today offers an overview on the cultural history of Egypt from the Early Dynastic Period through to the Islamic Era (project-min.de)
Historical place with history from the different egyption eras. Tour guide was highly educated and informative. Nice place for families with children and young people.
This museum is so underrated, it has funerary exhibition with an actual ancient Egyptian mummy. Its small but lovely. They also have Roman mosaic art and coptic icons. So it has multiple eras and exhibitions.
Small museum, displays some interesting artifacts and manuscripts from Ancient Egyptian, Greek, Islamic eras. You can complete the tour in 1 hour. Tickets for Egyptians 10 L.E.And for non Egyptians 50 L.E.Photograpy is with additional cost.Good place to visit.
A collection of antiques found during the work of the Canal. Considers the second eldest museum in Egypt after the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The museum isnt spacious enough, you can take a round in less than 10 minutes. Moreover nothing special about Ismailia Governorate, most of them are Pharoah ancient pieces.
Very goodMany varieties for several agesRecommend
Love the place full of good quality egyptian and Romanian and Greek stuff I would suggest to visit it when u are at one of the most beautiful city in Egypt the stuff was so friendly and they explained to us everything there
This museum seem to be closed I didnt enter the museum and never see any one enter it before. But out side the museum there is a lot of status at good form and it have a lot of securities outside it. I hope to visit it one time to see what is there
Interesting museum. We had a tour by one of the employees and was quite amazing. The museum needs more attention and maintenance from the government.
Collection of three periods of ancient Egypt. Small area but there is a lot to see. Need illustrations. The building as well is a monument.

A very special place. The exhibits are few, but they are of great historical value, including unique and unparalleled pieces, and the tourist guide here is the best. The place is organized in the manner of topics and not time periods, and this division allows you to compare between different erasThank you to the museum curators and guides
A wonderful museum and the children were fascinated by it, because in Ismailia there is a wonderful tourist place like this
A very wonderful museum with more than one period of time, fun time for young children, and the most beautiful hospitality

A beautiful place, but a very small museum, and the exhibits are few in relation to the city of Ismailia, which is known to be a tourist city

A nice but small place, not worth traveling from Cairo especially
It is one of the best museums I have visited
A museum that includes antiquities from different eras, from prehistory to the Islamic eraThe artifacts are beautiful and wonderful, but it needs some renovation in the means of display
It was beautiful, and its location is beautiful, and it is close to the Suez Canal

It is only half a kilometer away from the Guidance of the Suez Canal Authority. The museum was built by engineers working for the International Maritime Company (now Suez Canal Authority) in 1911. The museum was opened for visit on February 13, 1934. The museum is now 83 years old.The museum includes a collection of artifacts from the different eras of the history of Egypt, beginning in the Pharaonic era until the era of the Governor Mohamed Ali, and has six thousand artifacts from different eras, and currently displays 850 artifactsThe museum opens its doors to visit from ten in the morning, the entrance ticket for Egyptians 5 pounds for citizens, 3 pounds for students, 30 pounds for non-Egyptians, and for foreign students 5 poundsThe museum hosts school and university students, to organize painting workshops, especially for children in the museum garden. It needs some servicing, but it is clean
The museum contains pieces from different eras, such as the ancient Egyptians, the Romans, the Ptolemies, and the Islamists. Not very large, you can finish your tour in half an hour at most. The only drawback is that it is not air-conditioned, so in the summer it is preferable to go during the evening period.
This museum is a landmark of Ismailia all children and adults know because everyone in Ismailia visited this museum when he is young at school because every school in Ismailia devote a cultural entertainment day for students to visit this museum and it was one of the most beautiful days for me because I knew that Ismailia has an antiquities museum, although it is not Large but beautiful inside.
The museum is small in size, but rich in antiquities, not huge like statues, but its beauty is that it is household tools, decorations, cosmetics, and other tools and ornaments that fire the imagination of visitors, as if they see how the ancients lived. The place is organized and clean, and it has guides specialized in history and The antiquities are also easy to reach, as it is opposite the ship guidance building in Ismailia, which is one of the most famous landmarks of Ismailia, and the museum is supervised by the Suez Canal Authority and given special care.
Nice museum, I wish people would visit it and learn about the civilization of their country
A museum with a distinctive architectural style and a few but distinctive holdings.

Nice and simple museum
A beautiful and tidy place, the best thing is there is a guide inside the museum, explaining the importance of the artifacts, which is not delicious there. The weather is very free and there is no air conditioning or fans.
Is a very small museum does not fit with a province with a huge and diverse history, such as the province of Ismailia, but it is very diverse and organized and recommended to visit the lovers of antiquities
Museum of Pharaonic Antiquities in the heart of the city of Ismailia valiant, open all days of the week except Friday.
Very bad is a 2 suite including the effects of more than a very small time-entry period of 10 c is forbidden to shoot even mobile need to pay 20 c
