I had a tour into this historic museum and aquarium, which was the fore front of marine research in Egypt in the first half of the last century, proven by the state of the equipment and sea creatures displayed, for both live and mummified ;one can also find terrestrial animals (mammals, birds and reptiles) from surrounding desert environment with full explanation of the whole preservation process for different animals and how it evolved from the time of pharaohs till present with their own contribution (hint :if you ever visit the grand Egyptian museum in Cairo, preserved animals section, you would understand, how come you can see a ten foot dinosaur era, amphibian such as Nile crocodile🐊 with the second strongest bite on earth, after its ancestors 🦖, on display carefully preserved after 3 thousand years), Im grateful to have visited this historic place and Id do it again, I feel satisfied to know all of these facts and findings about sea lifeI Strongly recommend visiting 😎
The place is not that big, consists of 3 parts: the house of the scientist (with some of his personal belongings and a lot of sea animals in jars), the museum itself - 3 rooms and aquarium. So every person needs 3 tickets, each by 5 LE.Sure will not say that it is a wow place but concerning that in Hrg there is almost no choice, this place is quite nice to bring the kids & speak wz them ab the sealife.
The most amazing museum have opened over here no words can describe it
Its look good but i think that its need more educated persons to visit...meaning person who care. we need to provide thise sites with more technology to make identifation and commencation of place and componants more simple and creative .....
An awesome place to visit but needs a lot more attentionDont forget to visit Prof. Hamed Goher House full of history and antiques
Not big but has a nice selection of dead well preserved marine animals
A place for old Hurghadas spirit
This is a great and historic aquaculture museum established by Prof. Hamid Gohar. the famous aquaculture scientist.

Great little place a bit off the beaten track. We were given a guided tour by Abdu and were the only visitors. It takes about 40 minutes to look around. The museum is interesting. Worth a visit. We were charged 100 Egyptian Pounds. Think it should have been 30 but given the personal tour we didnt really mind!
An interesting complex of museums. There are very few people, we were generally alone there. We were given an excursion, they told everything so warmly that we wanted to know more. The museum itself was collected, practically, by the legendary biologist, everything was caught by him. Some fish can be touched, they are hard to the touch, as they are filled with gypsum inside. I advise you to visit!
I read a lot about this good museum, but I myself could not get on the excursion. Tours are not carried here, because it is not interesting financially. But if you decide to come yourself - come in the morning, hours before 12:00. After 14:00 you wont find anyone here.
Small but interesting. Admission costs € 0.70 if you travel privately without an organizer. We gave the leadership 5 €. It was great for 2 people.
The National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries is a research institute that conducts research in the field of marine life and follows the main institute in Cairo, which is followed by several institutes of marine sciences, the most important of which is the institute located in Alexandria Governorate on the Mediterranean Sea. The Marine Biology Station was established in 1928 and the research began in 1932 under the chairmanship of the English scientist Cyril Crossland. It was then affiliated with the Faculty of Science at King Fuad University I (currently Cairo University). The station is the first marine aquatic station on the Red Sea coast, and it is the only station on the Red Sea coast for thirty years. Dr. Hamed Jawhar took over the station in 1934 for 40 years during which the Institute witnessed a scientific activity. During this period, Dr. Jowhar established the Aquatic Museum of the station and undertook important researches in the field of marine sciences. The station now holds the name of the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries - Red Sea Branch and is affiliated with the Ministry of Research
Nice aquarium. A small but inexperienced will be something to see. Adult price 25 pounds, open until 10 p.m.
