This is very nice hotel! Everything you need, you will find here: the coral reef for snorkeling, amazing restaurants on any taste (oriental, asian, meat/fish), cocktail bars, amazing swimming pools. We liked the personnel there - friendly, funny, helpful. Also, there are no children, which is really a big advantage if you want to have a more peaceful vacation. Also, the hotel is as close to the sea as possible and you can have an amazing sea view from the hotel!

It looks great, but lacks maintenance. The staff is friendly, but the food is horrible. The buffets lack variation, the quality is poor. To reserve one of the other restaurants is a time consuming task. Some reservations go thru guest relations, others thru the reception desk others thru one of the bars. If you go to the restaurants the all inclusive concept is lost, drinks and mediocre food is charged as extra. This may appeal to the main public, Russians, but not to me.The pool bars are great, you van get your vodka starting 10 AM, as many of the before mentioned guests do.

The situation is very different and unreasonable after covid. You are able to book a table to the restaurants but in fact you cant. Every restaurants work quarter capacity - some people at the restaurants at the night - but you got the answer: Sorry, you cant book now, come back tomorrow and book three days before. Are you kidding? We have eleven days here, but I could book only one time. So booking into several restautants is disappointing and frustrating. Qualities of the food often varies.

Amazing. The hotel has the most beautiful coral reef in the whole Makadi Bay. The snorkeling is magnificent - you can regularly see moray eels swimming around, sometimes you can even spot a turtle or eagle rays! The food is great as well - except perhaps the breakfast, where the choice is a bit limited. For the lunch and especially dinner, there is a wide variety of choices you can pick from - many great restaurants.Be aware that Makadi Spa is true to its name and has a spa-like atmosphere - no animations, relaxing music all the time and state of serenity throughout the day. For dancing, you can go to one of the bars in neighbouring hotels (they are a part of the same resort), but afterwards you can treat yourself to the relaxing Makadi Spa :)

It is a very beautiful and clean resort. The room is spacious, it is actually an apartment with a generous bed, a dressing room and a large bathroom. There are ambient lights, many swimming pools and it makes you think of a SPA. It is very clean everywhere and the staff friendly. The food is very good.

Overall hotel is pretty good. Nice view from room and pretty hotel decor. Still on our (start of March) sea was pretty cold and there was no warm pool. Also hotel staff refused to give us excursion meal, if we dont buy excursion in hotel guide (I paid for my daily meal in AI, why you even ask me what would I do with it?). People from other hotels didnt had such troubles. Also ration, that was given for us to airport was terrible (except water). Its like last cord that should be remembered from staying in your place, last emotion. And I had empty plastic bread roll, and boiled egg :). You could just put additional local fruits, and thats would be perfect..

We had a very disappointing vacation because of the hotel. We were expecting a 5 stars hotel but the hotel doesnt rise to this. We had problems with the restaurant that serves breakfast because we mostly arrived around 10.30(the program is 07-11) and they always told us that its late and to come earlier. Then we had problems with the hotels restaurant because the food was either too cooked either not well cooked. You have a very small selection of food you can choose of and very not sophisticated. None of the 3 pools were heated so it was impossible to enter. We went in 6 of January. My boyfriend tried to make a romantic dinner surprise for me so he needed 2 chairs and a table on the beach. First for this they asked him 60€, then, 10 min before the dinner they said its 90 to 100€(just to move a table abd chairs because the food is all inclusive). He then cancelled. The water for shower is never hot only medium, wifi you only find in the reception, that is all! As i read in other past reviews there are so many pieces missing from the pools, the rooms(ours) had a little mold near the bathroom. I purchased an offer with 5 massage for 100€ that they said when i payed that i can do at any hour and if i like in the spa area. First day I did it on the beach were they suggested but it was right near the volleyball place, so no peace. They also advertised that they have 5 kind of massage i can choose of. In reality i had every day egyptean massage because i dont think they know other even if i asked and when i asked to do it in the spa, they took me in the back of one of the hotels in a dirty small room(each little massage room has 4 massage beds). Drinking at the reception bar is with extra cost but they dont tell you only after when they ask you to sign for the room number. After all this and makeing a lot of complaints at the reception we asked to speak with the general manager, we met him and told us that he can not heat the pool because they are infinity pools, that they have no spa are for the massage, that its very rude what they did with the romantic dinner and that for breakfast the employees have to stay untill late so its rude to always tell us we are late. After the discussion things got a little better but still not enough for a 5 star hotel. PS:almost everybody expects tips even if they dont deserve it. There is no beach, everything is cemented and there are rocks in the water. We could not take a uber to go in Hurghada because they dont permit nobody to enter in the hotel chain(they say do to covid) so we had to pay 25(first they asked 45€) with their transfer company instead of 8€ in uber. You are also not allowed to go out to the hotel gate to meet the uber driver outside the hotel gate. GOOD PARTS: The gentleman from the coral reef, Sayed is great, atypical for an egyptean. He was so kind and came with us in the water, help me with one mask(we only had one, so he borrowed his), showed us some absolutely stunning reef and variety of fish, hold my hand(i cant swim) and explained somuch about sea life to us and didnt want or accept no money for all this. We ate much better food at the other hotel of theirs Sunwing. The staff was very polite, good food also for lunch and dinner(german and mexican nights). We were so surprised that at a inferior hotel as rating and price from their hotels we were better treated. So we ate everyday here. Big rooms and nice view. Ahmed from the reception was very helpful and speaks perfect English, rhe boys from the pool and beach bar very kind. So, i rated it 2 stars only due to this great people that i mentioned in the good part, if not, i would give 1 star.

Absolutely the best place we have ever stayed. It is a very quiet resort as you can can only hear the nice background music and the birds twittering. The staff are very friendly and helpful to any of your requirements. Would definitely stay here again. The rooms are clean and to a very good standard. If you manage to get a sea view room then this is a bonus.

We have just returned from a week here and it was just perfect. The rooms, even the junior suites, are stunning. The food is lovely, especially in the a la carte restaurants. La pasha is the best.. They provide entertainment. The people are lovely all over the hotel too. There are a couple of negatives... The All inclusive alcohol is not good! You can buy premium drinks which arent expensive. Shazly makes the best cocktails!! You are also expected to tip constantly. Having said that... We have had the best time and we would return in a heartbeat!! Great holiday!

Excellent Hotel. Friendly staff and very good service. The all inclusive ala cart restaurants are so plentiful that you never need to visit the buffet restaurant. However, the buffet menu and range is the best I have ever seen and of a very high standard. The resort is vast, clean and safe. The Makadi Spa is their Jewel in the Crown.I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Have stayed in several hotels in Makadi Bay but this one would be worth a return visit. Huge rooms, vast balcony, lovely sea views, excellent food, several different restaurants with choice of cuisine - Chinese, Fish, Steak, Spanish and local, as well as International all inclusive buffet. There is also a Viennese cafe in the afternoons serving luxury teas/coffees cakes and pastries. There is a small mall within the hotel for gifts, money exchange/ATM and other bits and pieces. Wifi not good - everyone gathered near to reception for a connection and if there were too many people it was too slow to function at all. Really good snorkelling off the beach and a Scuba and snorkelling centre for boat trips. Not a lot in the way of evening entertainment, but there is at adjoining hotels. The real plus for us is that this is an Adults only hotel. Recommended.

We come on holiday expecting it to be nice relaxing and to be looked after. The service in what is meant to be the TOP HOTEL/RESORT in Hurghada. We arrived at 9pm after waiting a hour and a hour in reception we got a room, after a 5 hour flight and expecting to be like every other top hotel we have stayed in to get the room on arrival. We werent the only ones to have this problem every one who we spoke to had the same problem. With arriving at 2100 there wasnt a excuse of the room being cleaned. The room was great size big and the view was great too.Bedding had little bit of blood on it, half toilet roll in toilet, no milk for tea/coffee so went down to reception twice and after 2 hours received some milk. That night wife was using the shower the handle fell off which was quite a size and hit her on the toe, which then made it very sore all week.So breakfast time we go to the main food hall get toast but no butter, the guy behind us had been waiting for 30minutes for butter aswell when the waiter does turn up he give us 1 small packet. This service is very poor for a 3 star hotel never mind a 5 star. You are only to receive wi-fi in the lobby area there is a very nice bar/coffe area but you have to pay for anything from there, and on the other side of the bar/coffe area is the pool with lovely sitting area and the same problem again you have to pay to get a coffee etc.Pool area very busy with people but no staff for table service and make a complaint to the manager take him out to the pool area explain this is not what i expect for £1800 for the week.A la cart restaurants in the hotel - steak house starters very poor, mains two options or a full page of steak cuts you have to pay for.Drinks house beer which if you drink all day still wouldnt effect you or house wine any other alcoholic drink you got charged for.this is the same with the rest of the restaurants with exception to the spanish A la cart.everyone i came across had at least two days of diarrhea medication from the on site pharmacy which cost 20 euros.booked a trip outside of the hotel and they wouldnt let the driver on the resort to pick us up and he explained this is the only resort that does this as they are not making money off us.Reception staff very very unhelpful.Pools have damage floor tiles.

The TV is bigger and modern, the style is modern, but the Palace give you more options at lunch for example. You have extra private place on the beach, but if you wake up morning, not in lunch time, you can find free place on the public beach. The tastes of the foods are the same all of the hotels. They are watching your dress in the restaurants. Sent me out, because I wore flipflop in 34 degrees... But I wore nice shirt and short too. Only missing the closed shoes.Nice, but Ill never come back.

Its a beautiful place, no doubt about it! We loved being there, and taking advantage of the all inclusive. The beach is amazing for snorkeling and scuba diving as well! Rooms were big too, and they even leave you a new snack everyday. Its amazing, and especially for the price we paid! However, points are deducted because both of us got sick from poor hygiene at the restaurants, only a few days into our stay, and throughout the rest of the trip. The food and drinks around are really lackluster as well, even though we tried about 10 different restaurants, everything was just slightly below meh. But you get what you pay for, I guess!

My wife and myself just got back from a great holiday at this fantastic Hotel in June at the great Makadi Bay area. Have been to the Makadi Palace and the Grand Makadi and this one as it is an Adult only hotel is by far the best one.All the Staff from Ahmed in reception the GM Margery, the Guest Relations ladies Michelle Ennis, and the young lady who had just started, to the friendly Staff all round the hotel and the Pool and Beach area who cannot do enough for you and keep you constantly topped up with what ever drink you want under extreme conditions which were about 40% centigrade plus .Our room 6030 which was a great room and was kept spotless by our Cleaner Mahmood who was fantastic and little Abdul who looked after us at Breakfast with his excellent Omelettes and later with his barbecues at the Cove . I will be going there at Christmas and will also be going there next year again. The Snorkeling and paragliding was fantastic.Would Highly recommend this Hotel to anyone and would Guarantee you would have a great holiday.

We found the Markida Spa to be a very palatial hotel, with excellent customer service. The rooms are large and fairly well equipped. Our room came with a US King-Size bed (very comfortable / lots of pillows) and a large bathroom with toilet room and wet-room style bath and shower. The ‘rain shower’ attachment leaked horribly but the standard shower head was fine. Our room was partitioned by a large, lit shelving area (complete with large pots/vases), which looked nice but completely obstructed the view of the TV from the bed.Considering that the hotel gives the appearance of being built out of solid rock, we were disappointed by the amount of noise from adjoining rooms. Our balcony was large and provided a sea view. The balcony had nice seating but was very open to people in neighbouring rooms and provides no privacy. The room’s air conditioning seemed to be operating but struggled to keep our room cooled to our desired temperature (approx 19 degrees). We left it running all night, which was noisy but preferable to a hot bedroom.Outside, we had no problem finding sunbeds although the hateful habit of ‘reserving sunbeds’ and not using them for hours on end was very evident. I understand that the hotel is more inclined to address this problem as its capacity increases. The pools are large, the water is clean and (at the time of our visit) a tad on the cool side! The problem with the pools is the terrible state of the tiled floors, large patches of which are missing making it very unsightly and a little hard walking on. This desperately needs to be resolved because it looks shoddy. Pool towels (nice ones) are provided but there is no ‘towel station’ to have them replaced. Instead, towels are left outside your room each evening and a chap walks around replacing them. This seems highly inefficient. The route to the beach/sea is easy and there are additional sunbeds, etc on the beach although some are charged – and the sun-bed reserving practice is very prevalent in this area. You need water shoes because the rocks entering the sea are very rough to walk on.There are loads of showers to wash off the sand and ‘stickiness’ from being in the sea – and, of course, the sea life is plentiful. The Markida Spa has a plethora of a la carte restaurants to choose from within the hotel and the additional hotels (and ‘mall’) on the same complex. We had no problems booking. We also used the main buffet restaurant in the hotel (and used it for breakfast). Unfortunately, we find the food to be a bit bland – beautifully presented in most cases – but just not very flavoursome. All of the a la carte restaurants have a menu where the number of ‘non-inclusive’ choices equals or outnumbers the number of inclusive dishes you can select from. Personally I’d like to see more inclusive dishes with the odd ‘special’ that needs to be paid for.Similarly with the drinks, if you want anything that isn’t considered ‘local, be prepared to pay. This is certainly the most restricted variety of inclusive drinks/brands that I have come across on similar priced all-inclusive holidays. So, we generally had a very positive experience – but not without the odd concern mentioned above. Most important to failing for us was the complete lack of any hand hygiene stations at any of the restaurants. We’re lucky enough to cruise quite regularly and any cruise go-er will know that you can’t get near any food without being actively encouraged to use the hygiene stations. As someone who can suffer from a ‘dicky-tummy’ I’m all for it and worry when such facilities are not present. As a 5-star hotel, I think this is something that the Markida Spa must address – and we raised this with them.Other things were simple silly oversights, like the fact that toilet rolls are not replaced frequently enough. A very nice towelling dressing gown is supplied but none of the little flip-flop slippers that usually accompany them. Our balcony door wouldn’t lock.

Thank you to Rudy Fischer and Petra Marks our new friends who without them we would be still wondering the Makadi grounds as nice as they are....lolI do however recommend extending the grounds map the show all the hotels locations as we did find this frustrating when looking for a restaurant. The gardeners also have done a beautiful job upkeeping the garden areas to perfection. And too the cleaners of our room thank you for the lovely towel decoration a nice treat to a clean room. ❤️In this post I present to you briefly our experience in Egypt - Hurghada.🏝 We wanted to go to a place where it is summer, but the flight should not be long, the costs should be acceptable and of course we should not be quarantined on return.✈️So we chose Egypt - being only a flight of 3 and a half hours. We all showed up with a negative COVID test. How did we decide on the hotel? First of all we knew that the Red Sea is spectacular for snorkeling and we knew that the Makadi area is famous for this. We chose Makadi Spa 5 * because it is a hotel only for adults and we wanted to have a quiet vacation. When we got there we were shocked that our wish was fulfilled far beyond… In a huge resort, there were only a few people. I had the feeling that we had booked the hotel just for us.😍 Everything was perfect. Here I want to mention the staff who is extremely, extremely kind, all resort is very clean and they are focused to make everything look good… We had all inclusive (first time for us) and due to the fact that we stayed at this hotel, we had access to other resorts in the area and we could eat at whatever restaurant we wanted. The rooms are very clean and large. From the balcony we could see the sea, the pools, even the sunrise. At night everything was very nicely lit… (I put some pictures)🐬🐠Wonderful and unbelievable was the fact that in front of the hotel, just a few meters from the beach, we discovered the most colorful fish. 🧜‍♀️ Another ideal area for snorkeling, just 3 minutes from the hotel is a bridge, where we met a guy, Sayed, who has been working there for 16 years. He is friend with all the fish, he showed us all kinds of fish including dolphins and sea cats. It was a show for me. They could hardly get me out of the water.Something that moved me very much was the fact that you could make a man happy by offering him even one euro. Talking, I found out that they earn 55 euros a month. I repeat… I have never met people so attentive that everything is very good, so kind, respectful and jumpy.❤️ We were in many places that we liked and remained in our hearts, but this holiday will be impossible to forget… the peace, the wilderness, the relaxation, the spectacle in the sea convinced us to return.

Again I enjoyed a two week stay in The Makadi Spa, my favorite Hotel in Makadi Bay. The Makadi From the hotel you directly walk onto the beach and into the Red sea. A coral reef makes the stay attractive for snorkelers; swimming is also wonderful since you have different areas to walk into the water with and without swimming shoes.I love the Makadi Spa’s simple but high-quality architecture and the elegant interior design. The rooms are spaciously laid out, having walk-in closet, sleeping- and living area and huge bathroom facilities. The rooms are cleaned daily, linen and towels are changed every day. Hotel and rooms are very clean and at a high hygienic standard. The stuff taking care of the Makadi Spa and its guests is huge, and they all are eager to give you a splendid holiday. So it’s worth appreciating it by words and tips. I learned to bring small bills (10€/$) and change into coins in the hotel. So it’s easy to leave a Euro or two after the meal or to tip for some special service. I think it’s worth to remember that the stuff is creating the special atmosphere and that they depend on the tip money as a second salary much more than in Europe.I myself appreciated the friendly and caring service of the stuff whether the receptionists at the front desk, always willing to help out and organize, wondering how restaurant managers know after a few days whether you drink your tea black or with milk or the or how you like your eggs. It’s always hard to leave the Makadi Spa, say good bye to the sea turtle, the sun and all the nice people made my holiday such a pleasure. I will be back soon.

A lot has been said about this special place. The most guests like it, some find it not worth the 5 stars it is proud of. I for myself have been raised in a hotel in the Austrian countryside and all what I can say is, that the Makadi Spa Hotel is one of the loveliest places on this planet. Yes, there are flaws like every house has, but all in one you will miss it a lot after departure, you will miss the wonderful poolside, the view to the Red Sea, the most charming and kind-hearted staff (completed by a strict security team), the fantastic meals (yes not so much variety but who cares??), the nice rooms, the energy of this place. The spirit, the vibes. The internet might be hit by djinns, it can get slow, this MUST be improved. There are guests who have returned for several occasions. And this tells it all.
