Did the introductory diving for €40.We only went down 6m (could have just gone snorkeling just as well). Nothing to see except for a few fish.The boat was great, well stocked. They had food for all dietary preferences but also ran out of food quickly.The instructor was good and helped during the dive. He controlled the buoyancy control device and floatation. Good for someone who is afraid of the water, but I like to control my own dive.

It was great course! We did Open water dive course, 4 days ( we are both beginners, we didn’t dive before) and it was amazing. Our instructor was really good, had lot of patience. It was a lot of fun! Our pick up in Hotel was always on the time. In general, the course is really gut organized, the stuff is professional and the food is tasty.

In 2019, I just gotten my OWD and off to Egypt I went. But before that, I did my research and found Diving Star. On their website, I did live chat with Daria who answer all my rookie questions, for I was very nervous. Finally, I was able to return to Egypt 28 Oct - 4 Nov 2021 for a true dive vacation and Diving Star was my only choice, for how I was treated in 2019, I was not going to look anywhere else. The whole Diving Star Team made my 6-day dive flawless and one of the best times in my life. I want to thank my dive guides Ahmed and Mahmoud for their advice and the whole dive experience. I especially want to thank Ahmed the equipment specialist who helped me with my gear getting into the zodiac due to my bad right knee issue I have. They have helped me gain so much more experience and understanding how to enjoy diving and look forward to next year. If you ever plan to dive in Hurghada, look no further, go to Diving Star. Best place to do Open Water scuba diving course in Hurghada. The equipment is new, safe and well prepared. The lessons are really useful, they teach you a lot of skills and prepare you very well to dive in different conditions. They are all like a great family. Good staff and good people, they take care of you all the time. After the diving inmersions they prepare hot soup so that you don’t get cold. One of the best experience of my life! Scuba diving for the first time in the Red Sea is incredible. The Diving Star crew were very nice and professional, we had Sherif as our main instructor/diving guide, he did an amazing job. I would repeat the experience anytime! Today my wife and I went scuba diving in Hurghada with the Diving Star company. It was the first time we did this, and we felt really safe and surrounded by friendly, warm, professional and honest people.We did two dives, one before lunch and one after lunch. Being an introductory dive, we were assisted at all times. First, we were given safety instructions by Kerim, who explained how to use the diving equipment. Then we were helped to put the equipment on. After, each of us had a professional diver (Tito and Ahmed) that guided our underwater experience, step by step, making sure we were comfortable with the depth, the pressure and the equipment, and raising our morale when necessary. They were really careful with us during the underwater dive (15-20 minutes the dive, going several metres under water, close to the reef). After a tasty lunch on board, we went for a second dive, which was with less stress on our side and we could enjoy more the coral reef and the colourful fish (including one that looked as Dory from Finding Nemo - just keep swimming!). If this is your first scuba dive, just take deep breaths, everything is ok.On the boat there were other people doing introductory dives, as well as professional, experienced divers that were diving alone.Everybody in the crew was smiling, helpful and cheerful. Ashraf, the owner, is a really nice guy.If you want to do scuba diving in Hurghada for the first time (introductory dive), we highly recommend Diving Star.

The price-performance ratio is perfect. Very well organized, nice and very helpful people, who made our dives perfect all around. We really can only recommend this diving school. We paid 75 Euro for two full days with transport to the boat including lunch and drinks. Thats more than fair!

I completed my open water dive certification with instructor Mahmoud Ashraf. He was very patient and thorough. I felt self and confident while he was teaching in the water and on the surface. Everything and everyone at Diving Star was great. They were extremely helpful and responsive over email, they came to pick me up just in time and once in the boat they made sure I was happy at all times. The boat is nice, big, and clean. There are free drinks and a free lunch. If its your first time you get your own instructor who helps you the entire time and is very professional. Everyone was professoonal, respectful and not pushy. As a woman traveling alone I felt very safe and well taken care of. You can tell the owner cares about the customer, I recommend this company 100%. You can also snorkel around the reef while others do their dive which is a huge plus. I hope to come back!

We went on day trip to dive and snorkel. I have a PADI certificate, but hadnt dived in years, and Mahmud, the instructor, gave me a full review with infinite patience. After that, we went on two INCREDIBLE dives off an island close to Hurghada. I cant recommend them enough, it was the best diving I ever did, and some of the best service as well. Ah, and before I forget, the boat ride from and to Hurghada is an attraction itself, and Daria, the person who organizes the trip for you, is super helpful. 5/5 stars for everything ❤️

Amazing experience it was the first time for me and my friends everybody were really helpful and make us feel comfortable. We had tea and coffee in the boat and we did 2 dives in 2 different locations.The 2 instructors Tito and Sherif they were really helpful and try to calm some people down and saw us how to use the equipment. The reef is amazing in both locations a variety off fish we dive for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. We had really fun and a great time i would definitely recommended.

It was a great experience. I took my classes and courses back home and decided to take my 4 training dives for my license with this organization. The crew was great. They were very helpful, patient and knowledgeable. The dive spots we went to were simply magical. I was inside the aquarium instead of looking at the fish and coral from behind the glass.The experience from getting picked up from the hotel to the marina, the ride to the dive spots, the diving, the free lunch and then the ride back from o the hotel was perfect. No complaints. I recommend this organization if ever you’re deciding on which to pick from many people n the marina. The captain runs a tight ship and it shows. NICE WORK!

I booked a few days diving with Diving Star in December and the experience was amazing. If you are in Hurghada or El Gouna and want to go diving, this is the centre to go to.All of the staff are extremely helpful from the booking process to gear preparation. They also do a variety of courses taught by professional and friendly instructors; I did my wreck speciality course with them and it was a fantastic experience!They will pick you up from your accommodation and take you directly to the boat, which saves a lot of time. They go to many different dive sites too so chances are you wont go to the same one twice.The dive boat is excellent with enough space for large groups and is equipped with hot showers. A delicious lunch is also provided on the boat.Highly highly recommended!

I made an open water course. 4 days with diving star. It was great and I will continue my advanced course with them. The staff on the boat were very helpful and the food was good. The divers were equally fantastic and we visited many different dive sites. I recommend them for all first time divers as the staff were very patient.

Very nice boat and lots of space for divers on the dive deck and inside/upstairs. Good shaded and in the sun options for surface intervals. Boat crew very helpful, food and guides good. We were diving before peak season so not that busy but still quite hectic for us on arrival (felt disorganised). Lots of brand new wetsuits to rent all other gear very looked after. Lots of Europeans (German, Dutch, English, Polish). Boat briefing could have been clearer and more thorough but everything clean, well maintained.

I dived with them for 4 days (2 immersions a day) and everything was perfect. The boat is very comfortable, new dive equipment, very nice and attentive staff, professional dive instructors. We had really good time, 100% recommendable

Spent two days diving with these guys and the experience was highly positive. The boat is impeccable and well maintained. The staff is helpful and attentive but not annoying. They don’t come at the end of the day “suggesting” an almost forced tip like other companies. They make the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. They made sure my needs were covered and went beyond their duties to offer a complete service, they offered to rent their own camera (great photos thanks to that) and book two excursions for me (Cairo and Quad Safari). Will definitively come back to dive with them.

We are avid divers with over 35 years of experience and more than 1,000 dives. We found Diving Star to be an exceptionally well run operation. Based on reviews from past customers, about six months before our planned trip to Egypt we booked a five day dive package with Diving Star for the first week in October. The package included daily hotel transfers, tanks, weights, two dives daily and lunch.The Egyptian dive operators mostly all seem to use a similar boat design. It is large (probably 60 to 70 feet) and well designed for diving. Diving Star’s boat, Sweet Maya, was in great condition and appeared to be nicer than most of the other dive boats. The dive deck is completely covered from the sun with very secure tank storage and room to sit down while gearing up. Each guest is assigned a gear bin. There is a purified water dispenser on the dive deck which made it very easy to stay hydrated.Entry into the water was made from either a large teak swim platform or a large zodiac (also in great condition) for some drift dives. The ladders were one of the best designs I have ever seen. No chance of pinched fingers.The second level outdoor lounge was very comfortable with a series of tables and cushioned settees.It seemed like almost everyone was smoking all over the boat, including the dive masters. We found it annoying. However, that appears to be the norm in Egypt.The boat strives to avoid having guests repeat dive sites. We enjoyed all of the dive sites. The visibility was good and the coral is generally healthier than we typically see in most other areas. That surprised us as there are a lot of divers on those sites every day. At one point, we rafted up with 5 other large dive boats. The boats use mooring lines rather than coral killing anchors and our dive master, Mahmoud, was very environmentally conscious. It seems that the Egyptians are doing better than most taking care of their reefs.While Diving Star’s operations, boat and diving are all quite good, the best thing about Diving Star is their people. Daria, who handles bookings and logistics, could not have been any more responsive or helpful. Ashraf, the owner, is on the boat every day making sure that everything runs like clockwork and that everyone is happy. Our Dive Master, Mahmoud, was very experienced and made sure that we had great dives. He did thorough briefings and knows how find all of the Red Sea’s unique marine life. And, like many Egyptians we met, he has a great sense of humor. The other Dive Master, Ahmed, fascinated us with stories of growing up in Alexandria during the 2011 revolution.In summary, we are really glad we selected Diving a Star for our Hurghada diving.

Excellent experience. Top notch equipement and lots of it. Even if I booked a L size, I ended up trying 2 more sizes which were readily available. Very competent instructor, explained the dives very clearly. We ended up spending 1hr on each dive. The 1 hr and 15mins between dives we spent having sun on the deck and enjoying a tasty meal. Deffo recommend. We had a really bad experience the day before with another diving center which had really bad equipment and an unprofessional guide, so the contrast was really striking. Anyway, we booked 3 more days with the Diving Star ...... and we went again the next day and the dives were really great. We will do our advanced with them :)

I’ve just returned from a 22 dive trip with diving star and it’s got to be said they have the same very high standards. The Sweet Maya and the crew were the same very friendly and helpful crew. I dived with Mahmoud, Tito Alex and Mahmoud and found them to be excellent. It’s my second time diving with diving star and know there will be repeat trips. After searching for ages through all the dive schools in hurghada, Diving Star clearly came up top.I was a new diver so I was very anxious, but as soon as I met I stepped on the boat, I was treated like family!The boat was immaculate. The food was delicious but also accommodating to my vegetarian diet.The staff were extremely friendly, experienced divers, laid back but professional.I really felt the company went the extra mile to ensure I had an amazing experience.Thank you diving star!

The boat was big and good. The person who takes reservation was nice. Everything else was BELOW what Id expect from any dive shops.I have about 300+ tanks. It is not that much, but I know when something is dangerously wrong.The guide was always rushing.After the first dive, he pushed our team to get back in water in 10 minutes! We had 6 minutes of surface time. I firmly pushed back insisting at least 60 minutes of surface time. The guide tried to convince me how it is OK to have 15 mins surface time because there will be just 2 dives that day.He already convinced other divers in the group (who all are newbies with u003C 15 tanks), which is another thing thats messed up. You dont convince newbies to do something that is not safe!I had to push back hard. And eventually we ended up having 65mins surface time. This is also bad. No one should have to spend so much energy to do something so obvious; to stay safe.And the guide ended the second dive short. in 35 mins.Very unprofessional, unsafe, pushy.------Response to the shop owner on 06/06/2019:I travelled in May 2019 (not on February 2019) and the people in my groups were new, as they specifically mentioned. Two recent open waters, and one adv.The guide did rush, tried to convince the team to get back in water with 15 mins of surface time. You say it is impossible, but it happened. And it is not good.Hope it doesnt happen again.

My Mother and I travelled to Hurghada on our own for the diving. We had an amazing time and completed our advanced padi qualifications.Our instructor Mahmoud Ashraf was extremely patient and tentative, and made us feel calm and at ease. Also, we did another day with 2 dives once we had qualified. Our dive master Mohamea was also very helpful and we had another amazing diving experience. Throughout our time, and before we arrived, we had contact with Daria who helped us with any queries we had. All of the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly.The dives themselves were in great spots, we got to see some beautiful coral reefs and fish. The equipment was in amazing condition, the food was fabulous (even though I am a vegetarian). Thank you to Mr Ashraf (the boss) and all of his team who made our experience amazing! Definitely recommend.

That was a very exciting 2 days of diving. After my OWD course in Germany, my first 4 dives were with Diving stars. All instructors are really helpful and made everything very easy for me, as I am not experienced:).The foods were also very very delicious..They deserved all the money and I had a lovely 2 days by seeing lots of fishes, corals, snake etc...Next time in Hurghada, I will defindefin join the tours again...Thanks for everything..

I completed my advanced open water certification with diving star Hurghada in March 2019. The service provided was outstanding, I was collected from my hotel and taken to the pier the boat and staff where ready and waiting. Every passenger was made very welcome being offered drinks and snacks throughout the day, lunch was served after the morning dive and was delicious typical Egyptian food. All diving equipment was well maintained and appeared practically new. The boat was high end and spotless with areas to rest and enjoy the sunshine in between dives. My dive master Mahmod Ashraf was very informative and knowledgeable of the local area, he remained professional at all times making my certification enjoyable. I would recommend diving star Hurghada to everyone and I’m hoping to return in March 2020 for another unforgettable trip aboard the Sweet Maya.

Spent the day diving with Diving Star and all I can say is that everything was outstanding. Service, equipment, food and drinks provided were all excellent.I had the pleasure of being guided by Mohammed, but Mahmoud, Ashraf and all the staff made me feel welcome from the start. Great banter and a lovely vibe on the boat.Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional outfit with top equipment for a decent price.Thanks to you all for a fantastic day of diving in Hurghada!

It’s an excellent diving school. The instructor is very professional, friendly and patient. On the boat every one is helping. Great diving sites. The boat is clean and the food is good. I highly recommend.

We had a really great dive experience with this diving center. Ive contacted them via WhatsApp and arranged everything upfront. There was always immediately reply on my messages. As we stayed in Hurghada the pickup from and return to the hotel was included. The boat left at around 9am every day and returns between 3 and 4pm. We did every day another dive spot, also depending on the weather. In total we dived 5 days in a row with 2 dives a day. It was also possible to do a third dive, but this depends on the spot. Weve been informed in details about the dive spot and besides that whenever we had questions the dive guides, captain, boss or the crew helps us quickly. Every day was organized really good. We had a lot of fun in the water and chilled time on the boat with everyone. We can absolutely recommend this dive center 100%. Cya next time

It was a FABULOUS week with all the crew ! Very professional, we pass the Padi Open Water and our dive master was very carefull about our safety and very carefull about how we are able to understand and to do all skills by ourselves.The boat is very clean, spacious and all the crew is here to help you at any moment you need.Also food on board was very good !Thanks again and specially to Mahmod, our super dive master !

Very very nice relaxing day. Dont be afraid to go under water they take good care of you. Food is delicious. Crew speak in many languages. They will offer you to take puictures under water if u want. I can highly recommend.

Diving Star in Hurghada, Egypt. It was a very positive experience. The diving equipment is in perfect condition and of high quality, an important issue as I was traveling alone for work without any diving equipment. The vessel is really cool. One can see the work of the highly organized crew. The master divers are very emphatic and help you discover the amazing ecosystem (we saw, turtles, rays, morenas, clownfish, rock fish, frog fish and many other marine animals). I observed the team helping and teaching beginners as well as guide experienced divers in wrecks (30 mts down—not yet for me as I am open water). My mistake was not to take the advanced certification during my two-day diving (I would have been happy to learn from the well experienced instructors). In a nutshell, I highly recommend them for all levels: from snorkeling (beautiful corals at 1mt deep with easy swim, beginners diving for the first time, open water lonely travelers like me and advance dive masters (as they know the area very well). Ah... by the way, food was good (including vegetarian—12 different dishes). You can chat with them in the website as they are quick to reply and very helpful...

One of the best Diving Center in Hurghada!I totally recommend them! The boat, Sweet Maya, is impecable and well maintained. The equipment is also well maintained and in such a good condition, that some items seem new. I spent four days diving with these guys and the experience was highly positive.It was the first time I did scuba diving, and I felt really safe. Now I gratuaded PADI Open Waters Diver and Im really excited for this. Many thanks to my instructor Mohammed Shabana!Ill definitively come back to dive with them.
