The staff doesnt speak English or German very well. You must hope that you get the correct food served to you, if it is correct then it would taste very bland any ways. The lunch menu is either meat or meat, or you have to sit at a different restaurant to get pasta or pizza... The beauty salon and gym are both under construction, if you want to to go the gym you must go at a certain times. The scale in our room was broken, we have requested a replacement and never got anything. The iron was brought to my room but no iron board...Update: the staff has contacted me about my review and ensured everything got corrected. It has made the stay more pleasant, I would have a few recommendations for improvements. There is a lot of great potential here and would recommend it to another if staying for golf.

The service in this place is impeccable. Especially at reception and at the golf desk - Martin, David, Ibrahim and Hisham went out of there way to make sure we’re comfortable. Wish the quality of the food could match everything else but still worth a 5 star rating.

The villa was amazing, clean and food was fine. But I have one concern that the stuff needs to be more friendly because the seemed to be stressed or not feeling happy working there. But I cannot say that they were rude. Its an HR responsibility. As a guest its a shame on hr to let me feel that these people are depressed.

Far from a five star hotel - poor quality/variety of food, lack of tidiness (rooms and facility) and partially unmotivated staff ignoring the Corona measurements.We spent a whole all-inclusive week at the ancient sands hotel and were quite dissapointed with the overall quality and performance of the hotel.Starting out we received a room which was not clean. After talking to the manager we were able to change the room. As an excuse we were told that that there has been a wedding party in the hotel the day before - how does that excuse a dirty room? This is highly unprofessional. If you book a five star hotel you can expect a clean room!The facility did also lack tidiness. There was some plastic waste on the facility, cigarettes in the hallway and lots of dust on the stair railing. The manager blamed it on the wind - yes, there was lots of wind but nevertheless one can expect the staff to keep the facility clean.Also parts of the facility was under construction causing lots of noise pollution.Regarding the food: some meals were quite decent (mainly oriental specialities), although the food variety of the main dishes and quality was rather poor and did not meet a five star hotel standard. The kitchen management was always endeavoured but the overall quality did not meet the standard of a five star hotel.In my opinion the Google rating of 4.5 stars is incomprehensible.

Big hotel, luxurious. Tried breakfast only and it was okay. They have got their own beach near the marina which is a plus. You will need a car or a tuk tuk to circulate.

We have been going to Ancient Sands for many years and we have always enjoyed our stay here; over the past year We have seen a bit of decline in both the infrastructure and the service. it still remains one of the best in El Gouna but with this rate that might change very soon :( :( :(

Very nice hotel. The rooms were clean & tidy. The breakfast was nice too with different varieties & a coffee station with all different kinds of coffee. The staff were very friendly & customer oriented. It was a very nice smooth stay.

We had a pleasent stay. No direct access to the beach you need a taxi/tuk tuk which takes 5 minutes for $3.The hotel facilities and 5 pools were fantastic. Very nice and welcoming staff and super delicious food!

The design and structure are very nice.. service not that good .. a lot of windy sands hit the rooms all the time no matter how many times they clean.. you still feel the dust on your feet and in your nose.. not great for kids..Food .. fair to poor ..The best thing there are the swimming pools .

A modern well organized unique resort .. the uniqueness started just after booking .. they sent me a link to register my details and upload IDs .. hence I saved this time during check-in .. and at the check-in time .. I found a ready envelope contains my room key .. I stayed on 2 BR villa with a pool .. the pool looks smaller than the photos .. the villa is very modern with great furniture .. then staff is friendly but a bit slow in responding to requests via phone. In general it is great experience.

The rooms are simple, modern and a bit monotonous. Despite that, they are clean. The staff is friendly and super helpful, which made the check-in and the check-out very smooth.

The rooms of this hotel are spacious (I had the one bedroom flat) and the staff is courteous. Other than that, the hotel is far from the typical standards of a 5-star hotel:- The food is a disaster. Don’t even try to order anything from the kitchen.- I had ants in my kitchen.- The hotel does not have its own internet connection. They ask you to connect to Elgouna’s complementary network, which is extremely slow. If you want a faster connection, you should pay EGP 160 for 1 device only.- The view from the rooms has nothing to do with the pictures on the website.The conclusion is that I would not go back unless I don’t have any other option.

I asked for twin bed next to each other I got one of the rooms that are for handicapps.

Customer service is excellent. The rooms are nicely designed and they clean it SUPER well. The only thing they need to improve on is more activities within the hotel and maybe some music through out the resort would make it great. Also more then 1 shuttle running at the same time would be more convenient. Other than that awesome place to stay, especially forGolfers.

The golf course was a nice experience and the staff working in the golf section was corteous and friendly.The rest of the hotel was rather disappointing. The gym was supposed to open on the 1st of January but still remained under construction. The front desk staff couldnt manage the easiest tasks and was not supportive at all if it came to restaurant reservations and taxi bookings.

I am unable to give a clear rating on the place. I have booked a big Villa with 3 rooms and private pool. The first surprise was due to this Covid19 Hotel was not able to provide house keeping as a daily clean for the place, as advised they are unable to enter the villa due to health instruction, the pool was not clean, checking deep there were some small insects swimming inside, my kids had no issues but I could not stay a lot, as I also felt no proper chlore only normal water from the pipes. There were no sanitizers in the villa.

If you have given up on Egypt give this place a try its got all the positives with none of the hassle or stomach upset. The rooms are spacious and modern, the food is great and the staff attentive. A large hotel that manages to make you feel welcome.

It was not a great experience to be honest. Lots of mosquitos and the villa floors was not clean and dusty. Only one bartender serve so I had to go all the way to the bar to get my drink instead of someone comes to take the orders by the pool. The staff are very friendly on a good side.

Everything was perfekt except one bar man at the main bar. When I ordered 2 cuba libre without ice I get one cola with ice. When I wanted 3 drinks with no ice he brought me one drink with ice. That happened all the time. Only once he did it properly. So please tell him how the drinks are made and that three means really three not two or one. However, this hotel is absolutely amazing with great people and this only minority issue doesnt affect the ratings. Everything is on high level. Rooms are luxurious and big. Restaurants and pools are great. See u next year 😀

Its the 3rd time to visit, each time our expectations are being raised, its by far the best hotel in el gouna if not in Egypt as well, they pampered and surprised us during our anniversary, just felt like another honeymoon. ❤️

One of the best hotels in Egypt

So very uncomfortable experience the minute i walked into the room! It smells like it had JUST been painted i am suffocating already while waiting for them to find me another room. The lightings in the room are bright white and ugly..makes it feel like a trainstation bathroom. Not cozy whatsoever. Definitely cancelling the rest of my stay.

I stayed with my friends and family it was really a great experience the staff was very helpful and friendly and the rooms were very clean and confort .It was my mom birthday n they sent us a cake she was very happy.Thxx for everything ❤️

Coming from an ex-hotelier. I really enjoyed Ancient Sands. Professional staff, well trained, very helpful and welcoming, room facilities (single apartment) were top notch, 5* amenities. The only flaw was no pharmacy and nearest one being in marina, the staff ordered meds for me and delivered it to my door.Update: smooth checkout guys!Thank you Abdullah, Abanob, Mohamed and the awesome bellman!

Rented a villa with the family, was very clean and equipped. It had a pool, it has very nice views of the lagoons and sea. Would definitely consider staying there again.

Vistited at the end of 9/2017. New hotel in el gouna. stylish, but many things not finished yet. few guests, very limited buffet at night, still the quality of the food was quite good.. we wanted to drink a bottle of white wine (theres no choice of different brands or flavours), the only choice is white, rose or red wine), but they didnt have a single bottle of white wine...5 stars......no, not at all, also in comparison to the other 5 stars hotels in el gouna. best thing is their shisha lounge with a great view at the sea....reality: you sit in front of the construction site and parking lot......i would not recommend it right now

The place is great and the apartments well designed and include everything you could need on a trip. Unfortunately it not on the beach but a shuttle bus is available.

Worst stay ever! arriving to the hotel we had to wait at reception for at least 2 hours till they got our rooms ready, and we were very tired after that once the concierge came they got us lost in the hotel by going to two different rooms! we stayed for 5 days they only cleaned the room twice, room service ignores your order and never deliver and if they do they take maximum time to do so! and to end all that we have found a RAT in our room!!!!!!!!!!!! WORST SERVICE EVER, THIS HOTEL RUINED OUR TRIP

I liked it but there were no mirrors in the rooms. Was very annoying to me. And we were on the 3rd floor and there was no elevator. My mom had a very difficult time with that.

HORRIBLE!!! We booked our rooms online and called the next day and were told that all the things we requested would be ready and available, once we reached the hotel nothing that we requested was available! They kept us waiting in the lobby for an hour! Only for them to tell us that what we requested isnt even an option in the hotel even thought they were the ones that confirmed with us! NEVER GO THERE!!
