Love love love it.... my first favorite egyptian dessert... you have sour and sweet flavors. You may add coconut cinamon on top. Its made out of rice but it is not rice pudding. I like it better when its cold so 99% i takeout It home and store in fridge then enjoy the fresh cold Sobya it is eaten at room temperature.Again give me your feed back and let me know what you think.

I heard about it I thought it was a drink like in my country but I was a desert made with milk rice or corn flour like a boding with slices of coconut.I liked it and I ‘ll buy it again

Al-Rahmany is a well-known shop in El-Sayeda Zeinab. They mostly serve sobia, a white liquid concoction made from soaked powdered rice combined with coconut milk and sugar. The combination is chilled before being served as a smooth milky beverage. At Al-Rahmany, there are no tables or chairs. People can enjoy it while standing or take it with them when they go.

Sobia is generally popular as a drink, and I personally am not a big fan of it. Sobia here however is not a drink, its a spoonable dessert. You can have it in two distinct flavors: Helw (sweet) or Mezzez (Sour or bitter). You may or may not like it, but I guarantee you its unique taste is like nothing youve experienced before.

Its the place that gets all the nostalgia for everyone in this neighbourhood, and if youre new there, or having a tour around, then it is the right place to pass by for a while, have a sweet sobya, or the bitter one which is even better, the prices are still good, and you will love it, the service also is good, might take a while to get what you want, just becaus its always crowded over there.

Although it sells only one product ,sobia, but still there are a lot of varieties in it , you can find either sweet or sour sobia with different mixes and fruits, its a product that you cant find almost anywhere else

I tried the sour Sobia 20 years ago, very good. Few years back, it was sweet sobia drink turn. This week, I got the sweet sobia pot with coconut and cinnamon. I am speechless. It is so good.

The oldest and best place serve eaten Sobya, they have two types (sugary and sour) I prefer sour one (mezz). Just note that I don’t trust the cleanliness of the place, but I was visiting they years ago and no thing happened for me

One of the oldest food places in Cairo. The local myth says that Rahmani used to work as a chef for the King and he invented the Sobya. The king prohibited him from preparing Sobya for anybody else. Instead, he left the palace and started his own shop not very far from Abdeen palace.

Its an innovative place, I thought Sobya was only a drink, apparently you can eat it too, but its really small and I dont really trust its cleanliness.
