A cool experience even if you have seen a lot of churches. The pulpit of the sanctuary is carved into the cliff side. It is a neat sight. One word of warning. It does stink quite strongly of garbage.

Amazing place. tho it is difficult to reach for non egyptians. nevertheless if you are in Cairo it is definitely must see. not only church the whole area. I would definitely recommend guided tours rather than going alone.

Beautiful church! An oasis inside garbage city.

Arriving there is a bit difficult. Get ready with the GPS. The guide did open the church even if we came too late on Chrismass day. He spoke French and Indonesian as well. The taxi driver who took us out of that place was an orthodox Christian from garbage city. He was very fair and honest. The gouvernement new policies make their life harder. They deserve help for living and education.

Beautiful place, driving through Zabaleen city is the hard part, I wish the government would support these people!
