Mostafa Kamel Museum in Salah El-Din Square - The CitadelThe museum was founded and opened in April 1956 to commemorate the leader Mustafa Kamel, but it was stolen - the museum - during the January revolution and the state strived to restore most of the holdings and was renewed and opened again to visitors in 2016. The museum is built in the Islamic style with a small garden, and at its entrance is a medium-sized hall where the mausoleum of Mustafa Kamel, Muhammad Farid, the writer Abd al-Rahman al-Rafii and Fathi Radwan, is the first Minister of Culture in Egypt. On the right and the north, there are two halls, the first of which showcased items belonging to Mustafa Kamel, such as many original letters written in his handwriting for his friends and family during his travel to Europe, two official suits for him, his crutch and statues. There are also some pictures belonging to the Mustafa Kamel family, real photos of the Dinshway trial, and oil paintings representing the incident and the leader’s portrayal of the sickbed. On the wall there are two poems written by Hafez Ibrahim and Ahmed Shawky in the lament of Mustafa Kamel. As for the second hall, there are many photographs of the Minister Fathi Radwan, some with his family and some with President Mohamed Naguib, and many others in conferences and official invitations, as well as some pictures from Mustafa Kamels funeral. The museum is very small, very elegant and simple. There are few exhibits in it, and the visit can take up to a quarter of an hour, assuming that you will check every image by viewing it and reading every message that exists. It is located in Salah Al-Din square in the Al-Qalaa neighborhood. Although there is an employee who told me that photography is forbidden, they - cutting their good - allowed me to film when I asked them to keep a memorial for the visit. Entry is free.
