South Cairo Court or “Bab Al-Khalq Court” as it is known among the citizens, which is located next to the Cairo Security Directorate on Port Said Street, its existence dates back to 1884 with the emergence of civil courts in Egypt, and its first president was Judge Ibrahim Fouad Pasha, and at that time it bore the name “Court Al-Ahliyya Egypt, then its name became The High Court of Justice, after it included within its walls the Egyptian Court of Appeal, the Court of Cassation, and the headquarters of the Public Prosecutor.King Fouad chose her to celebrate with the judges and the Ministry of Haqqania in 1933, the golden feast of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of civil courts in Egypt.On April 4, 2013, the court was exposed to a massive fire that broke out on the last floor of it, and everything in it was completely destroyed, and after inspecting the building, the competent engineering committee recommended the restoration of the building.
