They test for Microbiology, pesticides, mycotoxins, heavy metals and many other tests. The lab is accredited to ISO 17025 from FINAS (FINLAND) & EGAC (EGYPT).

The plant was established in 1995 by Ministerial Resolution No. 680 of 1995, established by one of Egypts leading scientists in the field of pesticide residue analysis. Salwa Daghim, with a Finnish grant and with the contribution of the Ministry of Agriculture. The lab was assigned to issue official certificates for its analysis as the only accredited laboratory for conducting these analyzes in Egypt and ISO 17025 certified.The Central Laboratory for Residue Analysis of Pesticides and Heavy Metals in Food was established at a high level of accuracy and technicality, where 10,000 samples can be analyzed annually and reached in 2005 to 25,000 samples and in 2005 to more than 35000 samples.The plant, its design, processing and operation are considered to address all the obstacles facing the quality of the accurate analyzes carried out in such laboratories, ensuring the quality of analysis at the international level, as well as the smooth operation without interruption and in the shortest time possible to serve the export and import operations.The laboratory tests are carried out by a group of young researchers who have been trained intensively in specialized international laboratories on the latest international standard equipment and techniques in the field of chemical contaminants analysis in food. The laboratory is equipped with many computers that work in the framework of an information network, Related to export operations, standard specifications and research information.In 1996, the plant was awarded the international accreditation certificate from the Finnish branch in Europe (FINAS) in accordance with ISO 45001, which was renewed in 1999 according to the latest system, which is 17025 and thus is the first laboratory in Egypt accredited according to this system and even in the Middle East
