Saint Mary Coptic Orthodox Church, Ras El Bar, Damietta Governorate. 60 Coptic families serve Ras El Bar and the church was built by order of King Farouk I to serve Christians in the region, but it was just a small building of the nest like the rest of the area and recently built in this architectural form and drawings and icons are the work of a Muslim artist. All this indicates the extent of religious tolerance in Egypt.Most of the Coptic family in Ras El Bar are from one large family belonging to Tata in Upper Egypt and have settled here
