The college was built in 1941 in the name of King Farouk I and received engineering students in the first academic year 1942/43. The building was designed in the style of pharaonic temples. A lot of famous engineering graduates from it. And it is one of the most powerful academic college in Egypt.

A college that educated many great engineers. One of the few colleges in Egypt that have honest staff who do not take rashwa or wasta to give you good grades. If you are an excellent student you will be rewarded for your hard work. I am proud to have graduated from Faculty of Engineering-Alexandria University. It’s like my old home

The production engineering department is one of the first in Egypt, middle east, and Africa. It is also one of the most needed specialisation.

The college is old and traditional, the educational system is not developed and the methods of explanation are not modern, but some of the doctors are very skilled and have great experience

I have spent the best years of my life there , it was of course hard and unbearable at times but the joy and the sense fulfilment that comes from being able to do and explore various activities and different walks of life was very much worth all the on- off hardships that comes along the way

The place ancient design is awesome, but there is no good renovation since very long. The air ventilation is very good, and there is no hot Weather inside while it is worm outside.

Faculty of Engineering was established at the University of King Fuad I (Cairo) in the beginning of the academic year 1942-1941. Its branch in Alexandria for the preparatory class was in Arts and Crafts school at ElShatbi. A year later, a decree of establishing the University of King Farouk I was issued and this section became the starting point of Faculty of Engineering.Studying began in the Faculty in the academic year 1942-1943 AD for preparatory and freshman of 169 students, with no female students included. Then, establishing the department began by departments of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The first class graduated at the end of the academic year 1945-1946 of 50-Bachelor students and only one post graduate student.The number of staff members, assistant lecturers and demonstrators was about 1279 with 13895 registered students in the academic year 2012-2013. The number of alumni in the academic year 2012-2013 is 2316 alumni of all specializations who will be added to more than 60,000 graduated alumni since 1946.

Very lovely buildings , historic setting , requires some renovations , great faculty , great friends , but if you want to enlist I need to tell you , it isnt easy .

Architectural wise : If you have a chance to enter the administrative building, do it ! Great ventilation in hall and very nice Neo-pharaonic architecture Edady building is also very niceAll others are crapEducational wise : retarded system, lazy professors, programs so not up to date ( if there )SSP departments are a rip-off, dont get fooled by what they say about better education and GPA systemYou have to work very hard on yourself and maybe with the very little help you get, you might have a chance to do your masters abroad

Wont recommend it to anybody ! if you can enter a college outside egypt do it !if you can enter a better university like GUC , Ain Shams do it as well.
