Three things; market, people, houses. The market is simply amazing, a great place to get Nubian products from and really get a feel of that Nubian culture. Second, the people are extremely nice and hospitable, and market sellers are always willing to bargain with you. Lastly, you cant truly call it a Nubian trip without visiting their houses and actually entering one.
Its an awesome place to experience the nubian culture and see their real life style also all their houses are open for people to enter and watch how its made and what pets they own, like CROCODILES🐊.You can also go buy egyptian spices and ride camels and do plenty more things and still you wont get bored.
Well we had such an amazing time there. So much to do and explore!!You can sit in a restaurant with the Nile view, go through hundreds of small shops, buy yourself a dress (not high quality, they sell it for 250 LE but I bought for 190 LE so keep haggling), do henna tattoo (40 LE) or buy spices and tea.We took a toktok there and returned to the Elephantine island by the boat.
A one of a kind place. Very authentic, aesthetic and full of colorful and vivid architecture. People are down to earth and very friendly. And you will fall in love with their music and dancing moves. You can buy lots of spices, herbs and handcrafted arts and goods.Food is also a great option if you want a taste of ingenious culture.A must see if you even visit Aswan.
Beautiful and so colorful village. You can buy spices, different kind of teas, scarfs, wooden masks and more. All handmade!!! ONLY CASH!! No credit card here. You can try for lunch Nubian delicious food (not spicy).Have a walk and pet a crocodile.Best time to go to Aswan as well to Nubian village is winter in Egypt. The summer here is 45 degrees Celsius.Wear sunscreen, a hat, and really comfortable shoes, the roads are sandy.

Generally the shop attendants/owners are courteous, avoid the spice shop which is the very 1st shop to the right after ascending the main entrance blue stairs from the Nile jetty side; they are utter thiefs and items were missing from the packaging, they depend that the guest most probably wont be able to return. Apart from this bad experience, the village is nice to walk through, generally a bit over priced
Nice place to spend an evening, near Aswan. You need to take a boat to get here. There are options of private or public boats to get here.Mainly souvenir shopping and some camel back riding here.
Nice folklore and Nubian heritage life styleNice songs and drum 🥁🥁 beats with vocal singing and traditional dancesHerbal in markets, camels in streets, crocodiles at guest houses,Plus nice fitter local traditional multi layer Egyptian pastry
The village is very colourful, a good opportunity to get the experience of local life there. Several villagers are opening their homes for visits, probably in exchange for money, but if you have a guide hell take care of everything. You should try their Roselle drink and actually buy some from local merchants, pick the ones with the whole roses intact, easy to make, boil it just like tea. Its price is around $5/Kg of dried roses.Note: no filter is applied to the photos, they have this BLUE.
It was very Nice! The boat we toke to cross from the Shore to the Village was a really pleasant experience and the people who came to give us a private Nubian Party on Board were very delightful. The Village people were very nice and welcoming! We entered a Nubian Home with allot of Rooms and a Roof with the full View of the Nile. The houses all had allot of colors and drawings which was very delightful to see! The Spices Shops were great! Allot of options and allot of prices to choose from! Very authentic and organic. The camel rides were nice as well and walking next to them was exciting. It was an overall nice experience and the Nubians were such warm hearted welcoming people! I enjoyed it very much.
We visited Nubian village after Abu Simbal, it was great! Just to walk on the streets, market, colors, houses, people, camels, cars everything was great! And we had the best meeal in ling time in there!I loved it!
A Welcoming Embrace ESPECIALLY for melanated people, ( example African Americans, ) who have went thru the Journey & Struggle of Colonization aboard and now return back to Moma Africas embrace! To see others who look like you, who love and cherish your features hug and kiss you, saying welcome home! ... is nothing short of a Spiritual Awaking!!!Absolutely WONDERFUL!to those who made it, Hello family! ✊🏾To those coming Welcome Home! ❤️🖤❤️
Amazing to see alligator as a house pet. Poor thing had no room. Babies next door, plenty of room for them.
The location is great with a nice view on the Nile. Its not a Nubian Village but a place to sell souvenirs to tourists in colorful painted houses. The persons I have talked to there all live quite far away from there.
Very beautiful place where u got the chance to get in contact with the nubian people at the only place left after constructing Aswan high dam and their forceful migration to comombo, also u got the chance to buy sovoniers for ur beloved ones but u have to cut in prices as they are over-priced a little bit.Ps. Dont forget to catch a pic of a crocodile 🐊🐊
In my opinion this is the best place to visit in Aswan. The first-hand experience you have there is one of its kind. Very welcoming people, they even let you enter their beautifully decorated colourful homes and offer tea and hibiscus juice (you have to pay for that but its not that expensive). The juice is a bit different in taste so if you arent fond of trying new things dont. Also you can enjoy the walk in village and buy souvenirs (bargain as much as possible).
It was a beautiful experience because of the boat ride, such lovely views one cannot miss that and as you are reaching you see beautiful, colourful houses... nothing was wheelchair friendly from getting into the boat to reaching there and going to the village but somehow with help of so many people I did manage to reach up the stairs from the boat till just the beginning point of the village but because sadly it was all dry sand so my wheelchair would not work on that. I put myself in one little area with the shade and enjoyed my time looking at people coming and going.... Full of group tours that come there all the time. I wish there was some way for me to go through probably a flat path but it was full of dry sand...the government could put wheelchairs which can move on the sand...its wishful thinking but I wish. I am happy that I could at least see those pretty colourful houses.
Very friendly peopleGreat sceneryNice activitiesAlways agree on price before any service (hair braiding, camel rides, etc.)
It nice village of nubian people. Full souvenir and spice selling points. Nice places with beatiful view to the Nil to have a coffee, some juice or food.
A very nice place for local food and Henna. Malak house is very nice and a great place to ride canels. Zakarya bazzar is the best and nice hassle shop. Local food can be strong for some people.
The people are very friendly and the atmosphere is great, nice party، everything is fantastic.I hope to be back again soon .
Beautiful and kind people. I would have rather stayed here for the entire day instead of seeing the high damn.
Amazing place!! So colorful and beautiful. Many cute shops and the people are so friendly.
Nice place but never buy from the bazaar there, exaggerating prices, better make your shopping at Aswan market.
Very good & nice place for the all visiting for guests and family
Superb trip with unique style and environment. Totally different .. full of positive energy.. should visit it.
They purposefully built this tiny village so as to try and preserve some of the Nubian culture. You can take a boat ride here, or combine it with a camel ride, and then once youre here, every house and stall will be trying to sell you something. There are some dead crocodiles that hang outside homes which is a bit interesting to see, but not much else is going on here.
It has a fantastic view for the Nile beside the great Nubian stile
Very beautiful place you must visit in Aswan. Thank you Noga Tours
OK, I have mixed feeling about the place. The boat trip is awesome passing via great sights and the Sallouga and Ghazal protectorate. The Nile is very clean and clear. The village itself is not fancy. There are some nice houses, hotels, and restaurants. But they over-price everything and on the contrary to what is promoted about the place, many people are not friendly. If you want a true Nubian experience go to West Aswan. The best thing about this place is its northern part when the village itself ends. There you find the Barbar beach area and there is a place where one can rent a boat and have an awesome kayaking experience. There is also sand boarding. So skip the village with all the camel riding and the ugly crocodile houses and have a nice time in the wilderness beyond.
Very beautiful place ,kind people and nile view is magical , food is amazing
Might depend heavily on your tour guide, but Id say this is definitely an optional attraction. The boat ride over was one of the best parts. That said, you can get some decent deals here if you do some shopping
I think we expected something different, but its exactly the same as other vendors. I heard Nubians were more honest, but alas...
Beautiful nature, colourful houses, kind and generous people, and great food.
This was actually a very disappointing excursion. The women and children selling items were like a plague of locusts. We were taken to one house to see the home and have tea. When we stepped outside to look around the village, we were so set upon by the hawkers that we bought a few trinkets - the women literally fighting each other to get at us - then went back into the house to wait out our half hour visit. We did not get to see the village at all. The guides that accompanied us did not make any effort to show us around or quell the clamour. Perhaps the knew it would be to no avail. We were told that usually there are more tourists and so the vendors are more spread out - but this did not make it sound more appealing. A shame really.
I felt privileged to experience the Nubian way of life through one of his older members telling stories to us.
Not as open and friendly as it was 4 years ago, I am assuming it was because of the virus, they are a very friendly and interactive people so I hope it will get back to normal when this virus has been eliminated.
Good to know the local inhabitants of the lifestyle and culture of Egyptian people. Nice 1 hour ride from Aswan by motorboat because the Cruise cannot move in this direction because of very large rocks. Marketing in the local village can be a good experience. Each house has a crocodile there, as from them Crocodile is a God.
