It started in the fifties of the last century, and the center used to provide textbooks for all elementary, preparatory and secondary school students, in addition to two monthly magazines for adults and children, namely “Dunya Al-Children” and “Al-Misbah”, in addition to the center’s library or as they call it “Book Fair” at subsidized prices, and services Educational, such as vocational training, computer education using a screen-reader method, sports activities, academic education, medical care, and the supply of printing experts to Arab countries. All these services were provided by the Model Center before many of them were stumbled over two years ago, as the material sponsorship services for blind students stopped, and many of them were employed in the centers workshops. After training them. The books were printed by the princely presses, then they became assigned to small presses and covered by the princely presses.Al-Watan newspaper lists some stories from their owners:Ziad and Youssef, from Helwan, sit together in one of the centers offices, the first in the fifth grade of primary school and the second in the third grade, but they review their lessons from the same book, after their guardian decided that this year would be the year of studying Braille after they They lost the ability to see except a glimmer of light that was no longer enough to continue studying, so the mother of each searched so much that some people guided them to the Center for Care and Guidance for the Blind, and the two children and their mothers began in the office of Nathaila Abdel Fattah, a teacher of braille, to continue reading and writing together, in a book that combines letters and numbers in both Arabic and English. In regular writing and writing in braille simultaneously.Nathaila Abdel Fattah, 58, lost her sight before graduating from the College of Commerce directly to join the public service at the Model Center for Guidance and Care of the Blind, and from here she began to learn Braille during the year of service voluntarily at the hands of Ibtisam Abaza, at that time the center was limited to vocational training Until she and her teacher taught Braille to the craft learners at the center and those who missed the opportunity to learn and want to complete the learning process, until the establishment of a nursery after children under school age arrived to them in 1986, so that the matter developed and the center became a nursery for the blind and another for the blind with intellectual disabilities, except that Nathila does not skimp on her time to teach everyone at all ages, whether after the end of her official work time in the nursery or at home, as during the home tour of the center and after the end of the school day in the nursery, Nadhaila was not spending her rest period like any ordinary employee, but she was working With eagerness to try to reach Yusef and Ziad towards the required level, so that they can continue their studies in the fifth and third grades of primary school next year, after they are able to read and write Braille after their sight has stopped. I have a diploma in mental health and rehabilitation instead of what I do in business administration, so that I know more fully in the field that I loved and considered a message and not just a job with her work, and I sense that I am a mother to children and a mother to their mothers, and I have to sit with the mother and understand her and deal with me. Each child’s hand, with his knowledge and the knowledge of his mother, will be a reward that is not less than 100 pounds per class.
