It’s a nice place to spend good time with friends cool stuff and delicious ( Um Ali - sweet). Nice hookah. You have to make a reservation before coming.

It was one of the best restaurants in Cairo. The food used to be better. Staff still friendly, place is very nice, very clean, but I didn’t like the idea of allowing the sheesha at the restaurant. I would give it 6/10.

We came to this place based on a recommendation that the place is good & the owner is a fine respectful Egyptian lady & that she personally supervises the restaurant for quality & service.Unfortunately it was a terrible experience the quality of the food was below average & served cold ! The manager Ahmad was horrible & didn’t care about the reputation of the place at all . Not even an apology !We asked the manager for the phone number of the owner but he declined !Then he disappeared !I feel sorry for the owner trusting this horrible manager.I can give more details of my experience if the management wants.

Great food and great experience!Ive spent 3 weeks in Cairo and I went to different restaurants almost every day. Balcona was my favorite! The food is great, the waiters are really friendly and some of them even speak English, the prices are not cheap but reasonable for what you get.All in all its totally worth the price.

Warning, very bad in terms of cleanliness, the way food is prepared, the quality of the products from which the food is prepared, and the treatment of the workers in the restaurant is also very bad and rude, knowing that their prices are very exaggerated. I would not recommend visiting this restaurant at all.

Food is great here. I loved almost every single dish. Mlokhyah is delicious dont miss it.Seating is good as well the music is not loud and disturbing. They apply minimum charge which is not convenient. Oriental food is very tasty. They have an outdoor area which is an added value beside the air conditioned restaurant

Very expressive , Ive never paid 500 pounds for an average one person meal. Just a regular lemon juice was almost 100 pounds. Outrageous prices. Never again.

Bad food, good coffee and shisha

We stopped by this place for a bite to eat .... This place is outrageous for their prices, I saw everyone is complaining about over priced and the owner responded “how do you know ... you haven’t been there”!! Well here’s a proof ... It cost us almost a LE 1000 ...for almost nothing ..... here is a receipt of how much it cost 3 of us for almost nothing.Customers be aware.Service was lousy as well.

I visited this place few times now with my friends , we are visitors from Dubai so we know everything about HIGH STANDARDSwe like it and we like the food , decor and ambienceHowever ; I don’t like smoking indoors I find it outdated and unhygienicBut what really surprised me today the 22 May around 1:30 am we went to have a small bite for suhhor, a pathetic old man who thinks he is a descendant from God ( apparently a known lawyer they said ) was sitting there in a table behind us and he made the whole restaurant put his UNKNOWN SHOW ON TV SO LOUD AND KEPT ASKING TO BE LOUDER disrespecting all the clientsHe annoyed everyone and no one was enjoying their time anymoreSo I decided to tell my friends to get up and leave and send him our bill, hence we were obliged to listen to his interview so loudThe management should first of all respect their clients and offer them a peaceful ambience with some music not too loud and Not oblige them to watch any interview , show or whatever because that person is sitting and wanting to be noticed ! Good food.. But the stuff was rude and not welcoming at all the manager didnt know how to solve our complain.. The prices was not bad overall I didnt enjoy the experience .. And I wont visit this place again

I cant understand why they ask for a minimum of EGP450/person plus taxes even if youre not having shishah? Its way overpriced and we didnt try their food because we didnt stay!

The atmosphere here is wonderful. But the only thing is the reservation might take a lot of time waiting the manger and stuff so friendly over priced worth it .

I went there without a reservation and had to wait for just 10 mins to get in. The food is good. There was a minimum price for the order (400 egp) which is higher than the average in egypt. Place is full of fumes so if you are not a smoker you‘ll have some tough times there. And yes, things go slowly there.

Great oriental food .... We dont cook this menu at home any more... Little noisy and there is a lot of shisha around if you know what I mean ...

Had an hour to kill at 12pm on a Tuesday which also happened to be the day after sham el nessim so it is the quietest time in Egypt for restaurants more so than normal. We arrived asked for two juices and a shisha. We were told we have to order 250 pounds worth of items each otherwise we have to leave. I understand minimum charging at peak times but at 12pm the day after sham el nessim is nowhere near a peak time. There were only 6 other people in the whole place!

I ordered fruit salad with vanilla ice cream and requested which ice cream brand they use, and was told Movenpick Ice Cream which I doubted upon tasting. Next day, I checked with the Movenpick supplier, who fully denied listing Balcon as a vendor.
