The experience here was very cool and unique. We selected what we wanted raw and on ice and the man weighed it and noted how we wanted it prepared. We ordered 6 shrimp, calamari, crab, fish, and spicy soup. The soup was delicious and unlike anything I had previously in Egypt. The seasoning was delicious on the shrimp and fish. Crab was a little light on meat and the plate was cleared before we could eat most of it. Calamari and shrimp were slightly over cooked but flavor was still great and a nice change up from the usual Egyptian food (beans, rice, hummus, meat). Would definitely recommend to people visiting Cairo.

This is a place for the seafood lovers. The best quality in Egypt. The seating and ambiance are mediocre but the food is worth it. Service is friendly and they are actively removing the dirty dishes which shows that they are looking after their clients. Note that this restaurant does not serve any wine or alcohol !

This place is amazing everything is perfectly made you will literally enjoy everything starting from the appetizers and the fish the shrimp the clams the crab and the pasta super delicious don’t forget to try the seafood rice it will blow your mind

Order the butterfly buttered prawns!!! The mussels and baby clams were a nice lead us snack as well. Crabs were a little over cooked but everything else made up for it. Enjoy!!! Also, no alcohol to wash down the buttery goodness unfortunately.

Samakmak is amazing as usual. Best butterfly shrimps in the world!! Seafood soup is to die for.. The fish was fresh and wonderfully cooked. Their salad and starters selection was severely limited. But the items they had tasted very good. Very friendly staff.. very expensive restaurant in general, but worth every penny..

My Wife and I enjoyed a very nice seafood meal. All fresh. Butterfly prawns excellent. Clams lovely. Seafood grilled with potatoes and a lovely seafood pasta dish. Soft drinks only. No beer or wine. No English menu. Good service. Resonable price. Will back

Had a work outing so we were around 40-50 people. The service was great but the food was below average. Not one person enjoyed the food, it was merely acceptable. Which is not what I expect from a chain like samakmak thats why I give it 1/5.Maybe it was because of our number.

When you want to order you go to a fridge and a few seafood containers to choose what youre craving and even check its freshness, their fries were homemade style and I liked that! Overall, the food was okay. But I wouldve liked the experience more if there were a menu I could at least choose the appetizers from and not have to ask the waiter for options.Surely will go to Samakmak again.

I loved the food. Service is excellent. Location is thd only thing I disliked. The area is do crowded and ugly, yet they have their own parking place. One would go only for a good meal, but no view or exceptional atmosphere.

The place has been in service for years, the food quality has gone down in some items, and they have become relatively oily but the majority is still good, the serving is fast and they can cater for special requirements. Prices are reasonable.

No frills, great food. You are fed with some amazing mezze even before your order. There is no menu, you can order any sea food you like and it will be prepared! Really tasty.

Seating is not comfortable with tables too close and congested. Fish was fresh but the entire meal is highly overpriced. Mint tea had a non mint green leave. Probably will not go again.

Very casual basic sea food restaurant but one of the best in Cairo. Fresh fish very well chosen and deliciously cooked to your taste.

A bit expensive but the food is extremely delicious...There were usually a parking problem especially in the weekends but a small ally right after the restaurant leads you to a paid parking for 10 LE...
