For sure the biggest collection of historical fire arms and daggers Ive seen anywhere. It has a very nice garden too.Id recommend visiting it if you are staying in Cairo.Tickets can be bought on a small booth 100m before the entrance (inside a square, look for a sign in Arabic but with the word ticket in English)
Amazing palace that contains of two parts one can be visited while the other is not. The one that can be visited contains of the Silver Museum, the Arms Museum, the Royal Family Museum, the Presidential Gifts Museum and the Historical Documents Museum while the former living quarters of the royal family cant be visitedYou should pay a ticket for entrance and if you want to have the mobile youll be paying another ticket but if you dont need your phone youll leave it outsideI would recommend you going there it is an amazing palace 😍
One of the greatest paaces in egypt,Museum is perfect and you can buyvticket from there directly. The theater is amazing and in open air in the palace garden. And tge best place is parking in alfi garage if u want yo go there. The place is clean and having high safety and health standards and kids and family friendly and totally recommending it and the staff is very supportive and professional and always trying to help.
Avoid! Far from worth a visit. Complete rip off! You pay 100 pounds=€6 for nothing literally. Not even worth a student ticket 50. Even if you pay the local price 10=€0.5, you wouldnt even like to spend time walk around inside. For locals to faff time for educational purposes, maybe worth 5/10 pounds. If you are extremely bored as a foreigner, youd rather visit a nearby mosque. Utter waste of time!In order to sell photo ticket, my phone was asked to be kept at the entrance in my bag. So I had to run back for my masks. They have no place to keep your bag but over a dusty shelf. However everyone is taking photos and videos inside. Staff allows everyone to.Attention! The amazing photos of furnished palace rooms uploaded here are false! No rooms are decorated at the least! I was missled by these photos here in Google maps. Total waste of a day and a day physical energy! Very expensive. Tourist trap! They close at 14:30.Theres one piece of architecture that looks a bit like sth, but you are not allowed to visit anyway.
The place is a weapons museum, with many pieces from all periods of history. Starting from the ancient egyptian swords and armors till modern world wars rifles and cannons. Many ottoman inventions are displayed, such as swords with little guns, breastplates with many guns and convertible weapons (sword/rifle). Many decorated guns and swords that were presented as gifts for the royal family. There are two sections dedicated to gifts of the president and silver collectibles of the Ottoman royal family.
Agreed, this is a beautiful park setting and museum venue – but maybe we didn’t ask the right personnel on how to access the amazing palace areas (ballroom, theatre, grand stairway, etc.). The only indoor features we were permitted to see were the various museum areas. That being said, If you are a firearms enthusiast, you will be pleased with the amazing variety of weapons (including lots of bladed weapons) in this collection – and the artwork incorporated in many of the pieces.A couple of hours at Abdeen Palace is worth the entrance fee – a beautiful place and peaceful environment. The disappointment is that we weren’t able to better experience the feeling of palace lifestyle of the days of King Farouk.
Great place to visit. Is better going by uber or metro as parking space is limited with few garage options around. The palace admin is very nice, all police and workers were so polite, we felt safe and zero hassle. It counts with variety of small museums: weapons, documents, presidential and others. Entrance for foreigners is 100LE + 10LE for mobile (to make pictures) videos arent allowed.
Very clean and secure. Beware the entrance and ticket office are in rear of building. Closes at 3 pm prompt. Exhibits are a bit niche, ie every kind of sword, gun , armour and medal you can imagine collected or bought by Egypt ex Royals and their circle. There is also a collection of documents and antiques, ancient and modern , as well gifts to the presidents, past and present , including a signed shirt from Mo Salah.

This is a museum at Abdeen Palace that has a wonderful collection of gifts that were given by different rulers in the world to the Egyptian royal family as well as some of their belongings like an amazing silverware collection and dinnerware which I fell in love with. It was an extraordinary experience to walk through the gate of this beautiful palace into the amazing spacious gardens and look at the palace, which is not open to the public right now, looking forward to visit it one day, you can only visit the museum that you should not miss, loved the golden sword that was gifted by King AbdulAziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia to king Fuad the first. I hope that all the Egyptian palaces gets renovated and opened to the public.
Amazing place with fantasy historic eras you can explore through the halls, weapons and armors are all made by true art, the most entertaining and interesting to me was the 1800s stuff its absolutely amazing as you can feel you are in pirates era, moving along through the halls you can find ww2 weapons and so it was cool to watch too, and the most stunning to me was the presidents gifts when ever he go to any country he receives a very valuable souvenir and gifts or they just send them I dont know for sure, at the end of the tour you can find seating and a small cafeteria you can have some snacks, coffee or tea, the palace it self is huge and beautiful, it will be more and more stunning if they opened the presidential halls and rooms I am sure, but overall its great and definitely worth a visit, I suggest you go early because simply there is too many things to watch it will take long time, and there is a place to park your car right near the front door of the museum. you can take as many pictures as you can with a low cost ticket.
This is a great museum which reflects a historical period of importance: the last days of ottoman monarchy in Egypt. Much to watch here and very interesting and rare artifacts which deserve lots of attention and careful scrutiny. Focus is key here because the selection is big and very carefully chosen.Love it, hate it ... Very captivating for all ages but one star less because there should be guided tours, printed or e-catalogs, more light, discount tickets for revisits, memorabilia, giveaways, etc.A very nice museum in short
Very nice place, very big with beautiful garden and lots to see. Nice to have a walk around here, if you come to Cairo come to this place. I think I paid around 100 egp for entry if I well remember.
Very interested place to visit. But you have to start at least 4 hours before closing time at 3 pm. Since security will ask you to leave before official closing time.
I looooooove this museum!! Rooms full of weapons including all kinds of swords and daggers and basically every kind of gun ever made, including extremely ornate collectable ones. There is also a room dedicated to medallions from many countries and gifts presented to Egypt from the world. The palace grounds are beautifully kept, and the gardens are magnificent. I wish they allowed us to see some of the rooms. Theyre closed to the public now, though Ive heard that it may open up again next year. I hope so, because it is such a stunning palace!!
Tickets PriceEgyptians or Arabs 20 LEEgyptian or Arab Students 10 LEForeigners 100 LEForeigner Students 50 LECamera or Mobile (Egyptians or Arabs) 5LECamera or Mobile (foreigners) 10LEWork time: Daily from 9am till 3pm except Friday. The place is Great ,you wouldnt miss visiting ot while your cairo tour, and a very good place to bring kids too.The palace consist of several museum hales The upper floors (the former living quarters of the royal family) are reserved for visiting foreign dignitaries. The lower floors contain the Silver Museum, the Arms Museum, the Royal Family Museum, and the Presidential Gifts Museum. A new museum, the Historical Documents Museum.
Just know it is really a weapons museum. You do not really see the palace as a palace. The grounds were beautiful.
This is the deal! I am a foreigner and go in with an Egyptian. You can no longer bring in a cellular phone unless you pay the ticket price. The ticket price for a foreigner camera is 10 pounds and local is 5. Ticket cost for foreigner is 100 pounds. They most likely will give you a different ticket so they can pocket the money. It’s all about money. Even I have a backup phone that I camera for business and they wanted to charge me also with that. I was getting infuriated over the issue and they finally let me in and this was after I was turned away the first time and was going to get a refund because I was reading that camera prices are 50. But the guy only told me 10. Not sure which rooms are closed off now but it’s still a pretty big museum mostly guns, weapons, military items and a huge collection of all the government gifts from stolen tax payers money. They also won’t let you film either. Hope this helps.

Revolution. Pasha to Egypt, where he was the seat of government from 1872 to 1952.The palace witnessed events having a major role inThe history of modern and contemporary Egypt, as it is considered the first beginning of the emergence of modern Cairo. At the same time as the palace was being built, Khedive Ismail ordered Cairo’s European style planning of spacious squares, wide streets, palaces, buildings, bridges on the Nile, gardens rich in trees, palm trees, and rare plants. He ordered the construction of the Khedive Ismail after his assumption of power in Egypt in the year 1863, and the name of the palace belongs to Abdin Bey, one of the military leaders during the era of Muhammad Ali Pasha, and he owned a small palace in the place of the current palace. .The palace contains halls and salons characterized by the color of its walls. The white, red and green salon is used to receive official delegations during its visit to Egypt, in addition to the palace library, which contains about 55 thousand books. The palace also contains a theater that contains hundreds of gilded chairs and has isolated spaces for women’s curtains. It is now used to display theatrical performances for visitors and guests.Inside the palace there are many wings, such as the Belgian suite, which was designed to accommodate the important guests of Egypt, and was also named because the King of Belgium is the first to reside in it, and this suite includes a bed that is considered one of the rare antiques due to the decoration and handicrafts it contains. The palace includes a museum that is extremely rich in history, where the sons and grandchildren of Khedive Ismail who ruled Egypt after him were fond of putting their touches on the palace and making additions that fit the inclinations and eras of each of them, and it was completely restored architectural and artistic restoration, and these works included the development and modernization of the Arms Museum Coordination and display of its contents using the latest methods of display, with the addition of a hall to the museum dedicated to displaying the different weapons that the presidents of Egypt received from the various national bodies. As for the second museum in the palace, it is dedicated to the holdings of the family of Muhammad Ali Pasha, tools and utensils of silver, crystal, colored crystal and other rare antiques. A complex of various museums has been connected to one visiting line through which the visitor passes through the palace gardens
What a wonderful day !! Visiting Abdeen Palace is like the historical fantasy which you pass through a very important and precious period of time in the past.I am lucky to visit this place and look into an amazing details.Silver museum of king farouk Jewelery and antiques was incredible.***Unfortunately: The external patio is only available for public and not the rooms and the inner halls as they are within the Republican Presidential Palace.
The organising of the museums is great, the palace is so clean, gardens are neatly trimmed, tour guides were so helpful
Abdeen Palace Egypt is one of the worlds most lavish palaces.. The palace was turned to multiple museums, including the Silver Museum; the Arms Museum; the Royal Family Museum; a Presidential Gifts Museum, and a Historical Documents Museum. VisitEgypt ThisIsEgypt 🇪🇬
The park is the most beautiful in Cairo, the musum though is not that much interesting for someone not that interested in modern history of Cairo.
The entrance fee is quite high for tourists. You have to pay extra if u want to make pictures. Nothing special
We only got to see it from the outside, it closes at 03:00 pm but tickets close at 2:15 pm& we arrived at 2:30 pm 😢 so hope u learn from our mistake 🤣🤣
Beautiful palace, however, there’s no tour inside it. Only few museums to visit.
Ancient history with a lot of sights and antiques and formal documents since the beginning of royalty in Egypt (Mohamed Aly family ruling ERA)
Nice historical palace. Nice maintained facility with beautiful palace landscape. I enjoyed my time in this charming place and I got good information about the Egyptian rulers in the 1800th century.
In addition to the glorious architecture of the Palace... the museum there is so rich and fabulous with a lot of pieces that have a lot of amusing stories
A palace building itself on a similar scale of St Petersburgs summer Palace or Versaille but situated in down Cairo
Piece of art - Literally. I simply wish I could go back again multiple times without having to go through the extensive approvals and security. Place is excellently well maintained - as if King Farouk had just left it for the day on official duties, and would return later... Excellent food, Huge portions, and great staff. Only issue is the lack of ACs but then, who needs them with all this beauty??
Has multiple mesuems ...The main palace was closed i wished it was open..The place is well organized
Spectacular. If you wonder what money can buy, be sure to visit
Great place to visitTickets for local E£100Tickets for tourist students E£100Tickets for Tourists E£200
I am disappointed to found out that I need a 1000 le ticket and a reservation to enter the Palace itself. I ended up just visiting the museum, which was not that bad but not what I was looking for....
It was such a greatest historical palace that melting your soul by seeing it.
Its amazing, beyond any expectation. So beautiful and very well maintained. Must give the credit to those who protected it, maintained it and housekeeping it. Also the tour guide Mr. Safwat was professional and well informed. General Waleed Ahmed the Head of staff and Palace manager is a decent and welcoming man, whom his efforts are clearly reflected on the Palace. Well done everyone for well keeping such a treasure. Its worth every minute or dime you may spend there. Beyond expectations.
Dont miss, i wish and waiting to open the first floor for public and allow people to round freely in the garden, without restriction
Incredible palace. An amazing lunch at the palace and tour is available via Archaeological Paths and perhaps some other tour companies. Special tours only, no general public admission.

A well-maintained beautiful masterpiece that every Egyptian should be proud of.
The museums are mostly for guns and swords. Cant see the palace itself. Huge disappointment.
