One of the dirtiest parks I’ve set foot in. “Guard” at the entrance won’t let you pass unless you pay 10 EGP, but he won’t give you a ticket. Good for spending some time if you need some shade, as it’s one of the very few parks in the area, but that’s about it.

This is a wonderful place which dates back to the sixties of the nineteenth century. The Opera square and Azbakeya Garden contained famous hotels, like Shepherded Hotel; theaters like Azbakeya Theatre and many interesting places. The statue of Ibrahim Pachá on his horse is considered as a symbol of the Egyptian Modern Renaissance.

History was made here. This garden used to be for free for the people living around. Om Kolthom sang her memory making live songs in this garden. Nowadays, entry to it is charged. This garden contains rare trees that are more than 100 years old.

They renovating the area, closed most of it because of the new metro line. I do not know for how long, but walking destination from downtown being more hard then before. So use the metro station and stop by Al-attaba station and get out from the direction of Al azbakya books market.I dont know any entrance to the garden, it might be closed too, but I felt shame last time I went there. This area is part of the history but no one cares about it... Hopefully soon...

The garden contains some very old trees but is in a rather poor condition and lacks supervision or good maintenance , wouldnt recommend if youre looking for a quiet place to calm your mind , it also attracts some very shady individuals so it isnt really a safe place for female visitors

The place is very good and will appear after the completion of the development process. We hope that people will preserve it after the development. We thank everyone who supervised the development process ....

Large park downtown Cairo, but neglected for the most part, especially when you compare it to its early days of glory. The park is still the breathing lungs of massively polluted downtown Cairo. Visitors can spend some time - though not quality time - amidst the aging trees and lawns speaking of their past. Peddlers riddle the place and beggars break the serenity at the most inopportune time, but law enforcement does a good job keeping them at bay or rounding them up. The park exudes of its glory days. Worth a visit !

In the 1850s, the area was renovated during the rule of Ismail Pasha in his plan to build a modern Cairo. Currently the well known Soor Elazbakeya (meaning the fence of Azbakeya) is a used books market that originated by a gathering of used books traders by the fence of the Azbakeya garden. The Azbakeya gardens theater was the stage to most of the monthly concerts held by the late, most famous and most beloved Arab singer, Umm Kulthum. The Azbakeya gardens is only partially present now as two multi-story car parks have been built on large areas of the gardens.

Old garden in the down town, was one of the best gardens in Cairo Egypt, beside the marionette theater and the national theater in atatba, no parking space available but you can park your car in atatba parking or opera parking.
