After this place got rented from the AUC, I think it was the best decision to be done ! Its a neutral nature friendly environment where people can hang out and business can rent offices and you can even find cafes and fast food booths to serve you while at rest in the main yard. The location is still prime after all those years and the isolated from the outside world makes all the difference.

As they call it .. Tech valley in the heart of cairo !The GrEEK CAMPUS was a part of American University for 50 years. In 2013, AUC signed an agreement with Tahrir Alley Technology Park, a Cairo-based company, who leased the property to run a Technology Park. The GrEEK CAMPUS offers technologically advanced office spaces and promotes innovation and entrepreneurship.

I have always loved this place, can’t decide if it’s because of the interesting events that I usually attend there or because of the three years that I was there for studying and learning or because the place is genuinely nice!.People working there are friendly yet professional. Although the buildings are old but they are in very good condition. Toilets are clean and the whole facility is good. You can easily get snacks or coffee I’m while you’re inside.

Deceptively deceptive and losing momentum at a fast pace despite the appealing looks on the surface. Only those who have seen, lived and experienced its past glory will understand the depths of such judgement. At least the surface looks good and that is a relief somehow. More like a go reek nowadays, akin to a blanched and bleached sarcophagus ... Pun intended!

The Greek Campus used to be one of the old campus of the American University in Cairo then sold to be a unique space hosting start ups and entrepreneurs but now is more of a space for hiring being companies like Uber and hosting commercial events. Spacious location with lots of rooms and open air area. Fewer options for food and coffee inside but it is in the heart of downtown so its surrounded with other options.

CAIRO — A new project planned for downtown Cairo has techies and entrepreneurs buzzing. On Nov. 14, the American University in Cairo (AUC) and Ahmed Alfi, CEO of Sawari Ventures, launched a sort of mini Silicon Valley in the heart of Cairo. The university will lease its Greek Campus for 10 years to Alfi for Tahrir Alley Technology Park (TATP), the first of its kind in Egypt. The area, made up of five buildings and 250,000 square feet of space, was part of AUC’s downtown campus. It was abandoned in 2008 when the university moved its main campus to New Cairo, a satellite city roughly 20 miles away.“I want to create a place where tech companies, start-up companies, funding sources and support people like lawyers and accountants are all in the same place,” said Alfi, a California native and also the cofounder of Sawari, in an interview with The Huffington Post. His company, based in a Cairo and Washington, is a venture capital firm that invests in Middle East and North Africa entrepreneurship. The planned tech park ideally would attract large companies like Microsoft, Google and Vodafone, Alfi said, but he also wants to have 100 start-ups.Since the 2011 revolution, Sawari Ventures and its incubator Flat6Labs have funded 46 companies — the majority of which were headed by business-minded youths who went through Egypt’s public school system, said Alfi. Post-revolution Egypt, though riddled with economic and political turbulence, witnessed a surge in entrepreneurial ventures, including a commuter service specially tailored to Cairo’s stifling traffic mess and a video-centric educational platform catering to K-12 students. But the planned development of the Greek Campus has some Cairenes worried that elaborate revolutionary graffiti will be removed from the campus wall shared with Mohamed Mahmoud Street where some of Cairo’s bloodiest and most infamous clashes have taken place. While Alfi hasn’t yet decided what will happen to the graffiti, he said there will be a creative space at the technology park where approved artists can express themselves legally. On Nov. 5, a new law that criminalizes graffiti was introduced in Egypt. According to the Arab-language Egyptian newspaper Al-Masry Al-Youm, anyone convicted of the crime could face up to four years in prison and a steep fine of 100,000 Egyptian pounds — roughly $14,500.Today — like many Fridays over the past few months — the Muslim Brotherhood and supporters of deposed Islamist president Mohamed Morsi planned protests (though such protests seem to be trickling out as more sympathizers are arrested). Tahrir Square and several other key protest locations around the city are blocked off by Egyptian security forces. The recurring closing of the square could pose serious problems for any large-scale project close by. But Alfi said the location is exactly why they chose the Greek Campus: It’s close to Sadat Metro, where the main metro lines intersect, as well as Ramses Railway Station. And the CEO doesn’t see a reason to hold back on the project, even with some international investors steering clear of the country in turmoil. For Alfi, the planned technology park — and what it could create — is essential to push Egypt forward. “It transcends the politics of Egypt today,” he said.

An office view was scheduled by the instantoffices.com as per our request and BASED on the price we saw on instantoffices website which was 405 L.E (EGYPTIAN POUND), The instant office account manager made all the arrangement and emphasized my request to take a draft of the lease contract for legal reviewing , suddenly after arriving at the campus , every one from the campus admin or sales DENIED that price tag as well as being in commercial and contractual relationship with thr instant offices. They at the campus claimed that there are no more dealing with instantoffices , the fact that the instant office account manager refused and rejected to accept claming that they in deed still in a valid commercial business relationship! Finally , the greecampus price tag had been increased to 4500 L.E four thousands and five hundreds Egyptian pounds per month per Edith 10 or 20 m2 and not the 405 per person per month in contrast to what it was given on the intantoffices website !

With the rapidly growing ICT sector in Egypt, a technology park that allows aspiring tech start-ups to thrive and grow in a proper entrepreneurial ecosystem was essential.
