A unique concept of a church built into a cave.Its kind of all out in the open.It can probably seat thousands.This is a Christian church and there are large carvings in the face of the mountain depicting the life of Jesus.I liked the area, being away from the city and its own special environment and area.Lots if nature around. Usually a guide will offer the tour.Its not expensive and it gives you a greater understanding of the place.Perhaps not a must if youre time in Cairo is limited.Yet worth your time.

Heading from the banks of the Nile towards the upper city and hills, it took me a little over seventy-five minutes to reach this impressive church built into a cave. In my book a must see while being in Cairo!

Awesome place. The road passes through the city of scavengers. Its scary. The place itself is unique and worth a visit. We were in the evening and it was not safe. We agreed with the Uber driver that he would wait for ours. The police were not there for safety. Unidentified people began to follow us. But we did it in 30 minutes) Hurrah. Sea of ​​impressions.

Very nice place worth a visit. The only problem is that you pass through a city or which is a garbage dump. Stink everywhere from the garbage and at night you do not go unless you want to experience it for a while. Our Uber forced us to go there and then after we wanted to leave we waited thirty minutes and no Uber agreed to come and pick us up. Too bad the churches inside the caves are very nice but the area is very dangerous and dirty.

A very beautiful unique church.Very well maintained, great view. It is very comforting in the chaos of Cairo !!The way there shocking !!!All of Cairos mill is collected there. People live there, children grow up !! Christian quarter ....... we in the EU are talking about climate change and the corona pandemic .... should we maybe only care a little about these people?

A church built inside a cave by simple people, who survive on Cairos garbage collection. The route is not very good but the church is very beautiful and is embedded in the rock and they also do zip lines.
